laughba Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 What signing this would be! Was great in the memorial cup! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/8421811/Transfer-news-Southampton-want-Lucas-Biglia-and-Joan-Verdu
laughba Posted 21 January, 2013 Author Posted 21 January, 2013 Although I'm not so keep on Joan Verdu, watched him before.... Not really sure how he's so highly rated.
trousers Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 On strike? Stay classy. I thought socialism was classy?
MOSaint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Sounds like a bit of a nothing article tbh, but it would be a cracking signing
JoeShmoe Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Biglia is my binky, he is top drawer and would be a big upgrade on Cork
Smirking_Saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Biglia is my binky, he is top drawer and would be a big upgrade on Cork Whats wrong with Cork ?
JoeShmoe Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Nothing wrong with Cork but Biglia is a much better player, with Pochettino being an Argie there may well be something in this
krissyboy31 Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Me too You don't know where his pants have been!
Saint Charlie Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Whats wrong with Cork ? Its a squad game. We had nothing from the bench tonight and saw how desparate we were when Cork was out injured.
Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Its a squad game. We had nothing from the bench tonight and saw how desparate we were when Cork was out injured. Indeed When de ridder is coming off the bench. You just know....
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Nothing wrong with Cork but Biglia is a much better player, with Pochettino being an Argie there may well be something in this There's nothing in it, just a nothing article to fill up space. Argie +Argie = Argie. Go figure
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 My main knowledge of Biglia is that a hell of a lot of big clubs have wanted him in the past (and he's good on FM). Seems semi-realistic to me. He seems to be on strike, and wants a move to the prem & we currently have an Argentine coach. Easy link for for journo's to make. Even I thought about it during the 1st half.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Indeed When de ridder is coming off the bench. You just know.... Spot on. If Cork or Morgan get injured, we're struggling to fill the gap. Bit of a no-brainer if someone like Biglia becomes available, snap him up.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Spot on. If Cork or Morgan get injured, we're struggling to fill the gap. Bit of a no-brainer if someone like Biglia becomes available, snap him up. If we had biglia he would not be sat on the bench. Cork would be the player to come off the bench if Morgan or him got injured. I thought he was going to Real Madrid
goneawol Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfers-lucas-biglia-of-anderlecht-1548470 New Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has joined the chase for Anderlecht’s Lucas Biglia. Argentine Pochettino is an admirer of his 26-year-old compatriot. Biglia, a talented midfield schemer, has gone on strike in his native South America to force through a move from the Belgians to England. Arsenal, West Ham and Liverpool are all interested too, but Pochettino, who courted Biglia when at Espanyol, could edge them out in the £8million race. Pochettino is also considering bringing in Malaga striker Sebastian Fernandez on loan with a view to a permanent deal. The Premier League Saints believe Fernandez, 27, would link up well with their Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Ramires. Fernandez is available to leave Malaga after only making two starts this season, as the likes of Roque Santa Cruz and Javier Saviola have been preferred.
S-Clarke Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 lol @ us trying to beat l'pool again. They love us. V good player FWIW.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 If we had biglia he would not be sat on the bench. Cork would be the player to come off the bench if Morgan or him got injured. I know! - It was just an example for people who said we shouldn't sign him.
Belgiansaint Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 He's definitely good. But I doubt he is worth the € 8 million asking price.
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 I know! - It was just an example for people who said we shouldn't sign him. Nobody has said that.
SuperSAINT Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Nobody has said that. Fair point! - Someone at least said 'Whats wrong with Cork ?'
trousers Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 You don't know where his pants have been! Says who...?
stu0x Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Fernandez is available to leave Malaga after only making two starts this season, as the likes of Roque Santa Cruz and Javier Saviola have been preferred. I don't want anything to do with any player that is kept out of a team by Roque Santa Cruz or Javier Saviola, let alone *both* of them...
Monk Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 Would give my left and right bollock for this. Sod it ill chuck in the whole thing.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 21 January, 2013 Posted 21 January, 2013 This would be a truly astounding signing for us - £8m? Can't see it happening now TBF. But yes, it would be to replace Cork - he's good, but this guy is the dog's gonnads.
doggface Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Gaston, lallana, punch, Morgan, biglia= drool
Torres Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Would give my left and right bollock for this. Sod it ill chuck in the whole thing. No thanks.
JoeShmoe Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Cork is a decent player but if we could get a passing DM to sit alongside Morgan it would make a real difference, I saw Biglia at St Mary's for Anderlecht and he was the best player in the pitch by a country mile. Sincerely hope this is true

Sincerely hope this is true Which then possibly solves our other forum concern regarding cover in the FB positions.. Cork covers CM & RB which lets Clyne cover LB. Yeah interesting. But it won't happen. He's 26 that is WAY too old for The Plan
JoeShmoe Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Not sure Phil, can't believe NC won't have promised MP some transfer funds to bring in a few new faces
John B Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Not sure Phil, can't believe NC won't have promised MP some transfer funds to bring in a few new faces HOW much would he cost
Chicken With A Banjo Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 I seem to recall he was linked to Norwich for most of the summer, so would like to think we could sign him if needed.
MINIBARCELONASAINT Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 People saying he was the best on the pitch against us in the Memorial Cup; do you remember Lukaku? He was monsterous and his brother believes he'll be better than him.
goneawol Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Biglia has arrived back in Belgium. Anderlecht have signed Demy De Zeeuw, similar player to Biglia. http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.lesoir.be/169571/article/sports/football/2013-01-22/lucas-biglia-est-retour-en-belgique&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbiglia%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26cr%3DcountryBE%26safe%3Doff%26tbo%3Dd%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D925%26tbs%3Dqdr:d,ctr:countryBE&sa=X&ei=6Rb_UIXLO8Sx0AX79IHoDA&ved=0CEIQ7gEwAQ

MOSaint Posted 22 January, 2013 Posted 22 January, 2013 Tancredi Palmeri @tancredipalmeri Southampton's target Biglia confirmed that Inter asked him on loan to Anderlecht and club rejected. Biglia saying he wants Inter Aspirin must be cheaper in Italy...
JoeShmoe Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 Please make this happen. Sounds like NC might be a busy man
SuperSAINT Posted 25 January, 2013 Posted 25 January, 2013 Anderlecht have revealed that Dieumerci Mbokani and Lucas Biglia will be allowed to move on in the summer. Both men have been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League during the winter transfer window. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/8434691/Anderlecht-prepared-to-part-with-Dieumerci-Mbokani-and-Lucas-Biglia-in-the-summer

Window Cleaner Posted 25 January, 2013 Posted 25 January, 2013 It's about 10 times _more_ expensive... we have a chance! plus if it's anything like here you can't buy it in supermarkets and petrol stations.
JoeShmoe Posted 30 January, 2013 Posted 30 January, 2013 Have we had a bid accepted??? Hope so as this dude is class
thorpie the sinner Posted 30 January, 2013 Posted 30 January, 2013 Have we had a bid accepted??? Hope so as this dude is class What makes you say that?
Saint Charlie Posted 30 January, 2013 Posted 30 January, 2013 We haven't had a bid accepted and he is in talks with Inter Milan.
trousers Posted 17 February, 2013 Posted 17 February, 2013 @indykaila: #Liverpool have been told they can sign Anderlecht attacker Lucas Biglia, 27, for £4.5m in the summer via SUNDAY TELEGRAPH. #LFC What is it with us and Liverpool being linked to the same players...?
