MLT has an EGO problem.

MLT is on record as saying he would happily meet NC to discuss and patch up their differences. NC has thus far declined to do so.
but i dont know if MLT would be able not to air his grievances at a later date if he got upset again. he is always running to the media when a bit of diplomacy should be called for.

Well you'd hope so as it's a big part of my job. Unfortunately a lot of you internet people seem to have little handle on the real world. That is evident by a lot oft he posts on here and the mouth frothing and meltdowns people have. Canada Saints was a classic last night, accusing me of cutting and running as i was going to the game rather than sitting on my laptop answering his pointless questions. A football fan abused for going to games rather than sitting on the interrnet talking about it. Classic.:lol::lol:

Plastic Innernet Keyboard Warrior!!!

You could at least have continued the cyber battle via smartphone/ ipad from the pub and ground ffs. ;)

It is funny how a few murmurings on the Internet can vilify or deify a person in an instant - especially when it's never that black or white.

Matt's been outspoken about the current regime but let's face it, that's mostly because he's so passionate about the club (not to mention that some of his criticisms have proven pretty accurate).

He was hanging around with a few mates in front of Ted's statue before kick off last night and he sits in the stands, not a box. If he had that much of an ego I can't imagine that he'd be hanging around us peasants.

Le Tiss is one of the least egotistical superstar footballers of the modern era. Talk to any Saints fan at a game and or in a pub and they'll tell you the same. Come on here however..............

Bit embarrassing getting caught making stuff up isn't it, particularly about your team's greatest ever player.

I'm not sure everyone agrees he's out greatest ever player mate. A few are claiming he is "7th or 8th best" on the other MLT thread.

I showed this thread to a guy I work with today. He knows Matt well and was on Saints books in the mid 90s as young pro before being released. his words were 'is that serious? Matt is the most down to earth fella you'd ever met, a proper gent who loved it at Southampton, great bloke, why are fans slagging him off?' So I told him about it and he was genuinely shocked at ow pathetic some of you are.

Its amazing how recent success has turned some people's heads. He's entitled to an opinion as much as anyone, the fact the guy is famous and in the public eye doesn't mean he can't say what he thinks.

It's stunning that someone who who probably knows more than any of us is constantly being doubted and discredited simply because the subject of his criticism has been so successful here at St Marys...

I put Matt somewhere between John Burridge and Hassan Kachloul. About 14th. Honest I do, and I always have. Nothing to do with crawling up the arse of the current chairman.

How can so many people be so unloyal. Thank god Matt Le Tiss wasn't as fickle as half of you lot when he was playing for us or we most certainly would have been second tier for most of the nineties and early 2000's!! Never forget the past hero's. Up the saints!

What a silly thread, no he doesn't. One of the most gifted players of a generation who stayed at one of the smallest clubs in the league having an ego problem is absurd. Never met MLT but on SKy he just comes across as a genuine fan when tlaking about Saints.

No you don't.

I look at Manchester City and see them as the Champions of England because that's what they are. Man City fans don't give a toss about how they won it and rightly so. We spent a lot of money to get out of League One and the Championship, didn't make it any less sweeter. Upset as I am about Adkins' sacking, if Pochettino takes this club to loftier positions then fantastic, that is what we want to see.

Pretty much this.

Wherever the players come from and however much they cost in transfer fees and wages, they're still representing the club and the city.

I don't see any point supporting a football club if you don't genuinely dream that one day your team can win the league, compete in Europe, grow and expand, build up a bigger fanbase from the next generation etc. become a worldwide brand. etc.etc.etc.

If that isn't what you want, then answer me this; at what point do you want Saints to NOT win? At what point do you want Saints to NOT sign a player that would obviously benefit the squad?

You can always moan and groan here and there but if you have an issue with money in football you need to be clear on the issue. Draw your lines. What'll it be? Unrestricted as it is at the moment? Wage Cap? Only players from academies playing for a certain club? Where along the scale are you?
