For the sake of contrast, somebody like Owen struggled the moment he lost his nippy-mobility and the ability to run in behind defenders. Somebody like Lambert has never relied on that, it's not his game, so he could well go on for some time yet at a similar level of performance. That said, I don't believe we will see him as a guaranteed starter every game in a years time, but I do think he will still play an important role.
