teedee38 Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 Bottom Line - We need to get behind Mauri Pochettino. Nigel was the right man for the job at the time and has never let us down, but I can see why Nick the Knife has done this, we need a big personality to bring in big name players and Nigel was not quite ready for that, in 5 years time we could be regretting this if his next employer sticks with him, but we are looking for more than just survival and hopefully this is the right move, albeit made in poor taste and seemingly ruthless disregard for another Club Legend. In the last few months we have signed new players and dropped some of the hero's from the last 2 years, last week we signed a new manager but you can't sub the old one and keep him on the bench. Nigel came to us in exactly the same way, its the nature of the business where results are everything. If we want to be up there with the big names like Man City, Chelsea, and Tottenham then unfortunately this is the way we must go, the board are asking for more than competing for 4th from bottom with the other big names Like Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham or Sunderland, which was on the cards if we were to stick with Nigel. Lets hope that onward is indeed upward.
