LGTL Posted 20 January, 2013 Share Posted 20 January, 2013 Why do people think that us singing "one Nigel Adkins" is going to affect the players in any way at all? It's not even negative, it's not even a gripe at Cortese, it's not even a gripe at the new guy. It's simply an appreciation to the man that has got this football club back on the straight and narrow. The excuse of it creating a "negative" atmosphere is simply ridiculous.

They want to stay in the league and I'm sure NC explained his decision to them. They play for a club not a particular Manager and will have experienced Managers leaving before. They are there to get on with the job. End of the day whether we agree or not NC has changed the manager because he thinks it will make us better. studentsaint Posted 20 January, 2013 Share Posted 20 January, 2013 Petty fans trying to make themselves feel better. I'd like to know that Adkins hears us sing his name while the teamsheet is shown on sky and before the game but throughout the match seriously? What affect do you think you have on the chairman? After the game will he reinstate Nigel? No. Would people take a loss tomorrow in order to sulk at the decision of a man that helped save our club? Adkins should have stayed but there is nothing we can do. I say sing at the beginning and at the end maybe to show appreciation but don't undermine what the players are trying to achieve. To me its quite simple. Cortese wants this club to do well probably more than anyone on this board. He is an egotist and will want to be proved right for starters. I totally appreciate what Adkins has done for this club. But I reckon he was getting out of his depth. Weve all moaned about it. His faffing around with goalkeepers, his frankly bizzare substitutions. I mean for goodness sakes how many winning positions have we given away this season. I feel sorry for Adkins but we are in the Premier League now and Cortese has invested an enormous amount of money for us to be a couple of points above Reading. I am also getting ****ed off with all the ******s coming out of the woodwork as soon as there is some dissent amongst the supporters. I am fully behind Corteses decision ( we are not a ****inn charity) and I am fully behind the new manager. Whats wrong with that ? No ones died . Nige will get a good pay off and another good job.
