Miltonroader07 Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Big Breath, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh COYR
Rebel Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 There are some right idiots on here it has to be said!
Legod Third Coming Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 I'm very calm. The King is dead. Long live the King.
colehillsaint Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Looking at the table tonight I think a win on Monday night would be a massive result, and most would calm down pretty quickly. **** no's if it will happen though.
Under Weststand Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Probably when the new guy actually starts producing a few positive results & it actually looks like we may stay up. Before that don't expect to much rational thinking. Results today won't have helped any.
Spudders Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 During a period' date=' there are usually 2-3 days of relatively heavy bleeding followed by 2-4 days of lighter flow. A few days before and during your period, you might feel cramping and bloating in your abdomen. The cramps are caused by increased production of hormones. These hormones (called prostaglandins) cause the muscles of the uterus to contract.COYR[/quote'] On this basis I'd say we'll be ok by Friday at the latest!
westmidlandsaint Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Agreed, I am not happy at all about Adkins going but some of the reactions on here are laughable, all this about wanting the new manager to fail is ridiculous what kind of saints fan wants their manager to fail. What good is a protest going to do? By all means sing Adkins name to show him that we respect him but we have to get behind Pochettino from the start, this isn't his fault, he's been offered a good job and he's taken it fair play to him. What's funny is that half the people on here slating Pochettinon and Cortese are the same people that weren't happy when Adkins was announced, he wasn't a big enough name after Pardew, never proven in the transfer market with money to spend etc etc ......ring any bells
tisspahars Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 It's a bit like a bereavement imo. A lot of shock and anger initially, but even since yesterday there has been a change on here to something more balanced. Monday night will be the funeral, and if we win or draw things will be a lot calmer as people move on. Get dicked and it may take longer!
Hatch Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 i reckon we will calm down about 8.30 on Monday evening when we go in at half time winning 3-0
Restark19 Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 i reckon we will calm down about 8.30 on Monday evening when we go in at half time winning 3-0 we'll all then become angry and irrational again when we concede 4 in the last 8 1/2 minutes
Miltonroader07 Posted 19 January, 2013 Author Posted 19 January, 2013 I am pleased to bring CALM to this forum
Dr Who? Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 we'll all then become angry and irrational again when we concede 4 in the last 8 1/2 minutes Everton will not score 4
Dr Who? Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Tomorrow I am goings spend the day away from English football, and put all my attention into the 49ers American football, and forget the last 30 hours. Then come back on Monday 100% behind the team.....bloody football.
Window Cleaner Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Big Breath, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh COYR I am calm, have been all the time. Us oldies have seen it all before. Said yesterday it was always when and not if and when was yesterday.
Restark19 Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Everton will not score 4 they scored 4 against Man Utd last season.. why wouldn't they score 4 against us?
Window Cleaner Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Tomorrow I am goings spend the day away from English football, and put all my attention into the 49ers American football, and forget the last 30 hours. You will be sad then. They are going to get handed their ass.
miserableoldgit Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Agreed, I am not happy at all about Adkins going but some of the reactions on here are laughable, all this about wanting the new manager to fail is ridiculous what kind of saints fan wants their manager to fail. I would imagine that NA, being the sort of guy he is, wouldn`t want all of his good work wasted and would want things to carry on going forward. I am sure that he won`t want Saints to fail and get relegated. If he has a beef it will be with NC not the fans.
Scoobysaint Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 Agreed.... its done now. Nige will leave with a positive record, love of the fans, a hefty pay off and the possibility of the Blackpool job. We have got a new era under a new manager. If your glass is half empty we are doomed as he cant speak English and doesn't know the English game. Half full and we've got a good young manager who can attract some top quality players to an ever more successful team. You decide... I've just got a new pint though!
Crazy Diamond Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 I'm plain unhappy about it, and I think given how well Adkins did, added to that the success of recent weeks, I have every right to be. I think it's a step backwards when we've got a guy who doesn't know our players and has no time to adapt. It has the potential to be a disaster. I also object to the manner in which the Club has treated Adkins. There's plenty of reason to be unhappy, and as with anything, it'll take time to get over. I don't especially want to get over it ASAP. It'll take as long as it takes.
Saints Warrior Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 I cant see how Saints can beat Everton or Moan U in next few games and the back room staff have gone. This new bloke cant speak English so how can he get his tactics across???????? Spanish football is no the same as The Prem so he is out of his depth. NC has stated this new bloke is for progress, so we must end up higher than 15th.....otherwise I cant see why we should all calm down and say well done you idiot NC
Spudders Posted 19 January, 2013 Posted 19 January, 2013 This new bloke cant speak English so how can he get his tactics across???????? Indeed, Cortese will kick himself Monday evening when he realises he's not ensured there is someone in place to act as a translator!
Lazlo78 Posted 20 January, 2013 Posted 20 January, 2013 It's a bit like a bereavement imo. A lot of shock and anger initially, but even since yesterday there has been a change on here to something more balanced. Monday night will be the funeral, and if we win or draw things will be a lot calmer as people move on. Get dicked and it may take longer! No, not a bereavement - a divorce. Daddy Cortese threw mommy Adkins out and found a Spanish bird instead. Now we're not sure if we should hate the step-mom out of respect and love for mom
David Strover Posted 20 January, 2013 Posted 20 January, 2013 2018 - we might be in Division 3 by then so it won't really have calmed down but we might on this topic. This Forum proves what my dad has always said 'They ain't all locked up'...thanks for the entertainment everyone! You are all truly mental!

Half full and we've got a good young manager who can attract some top quality players to an ever more successful team. You decide... I've just got a new pint though! If this had happened a few months ago we'd all be saying that we felt sorry for Adkins but that it was exciting to get a big up and coming manager on board. Now due to the circumstances there appears to be a need to make Pochettino look clueless (post #22 for instance) just because people are angry at Cortese...
Restark19 Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 How are people feeling about it now? Still gutted for Nigel personally but also excited about the future with Tino. Feel that he's the right man to take us forward and needs our support
Crab Lungs Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 How are people feeling about it now? Still gutted for Nigel personally but also excited about the future with Tino. Feel that he's the right man to take us forward and needs our support Absolutely gutted for Nigel, wish it hadn't happened as I do believe eventually, he'd have take us further and further. However, I think Cortese is "fast-tracking" us and can't wait around for gradual steps of improvement. Dangerous, but he's called it right before. It remains to be seen though whether Pochettino is a "step up" in anything more than just name and contacts. I do however still think Cortese is a complete ar5ehole.
St Marco Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 How are people feeling about it now? Still gutted for Nigel personally but also excited about the future with Tino. Feel that he's the right man to take us forward and needs our support Think I still think the same really. Chairman has huge goals for the club and thinks someone more likely to reach those targets should be in charge. A big gamble that will either pay off or not. But the way Adkins was treated was harsh and he didn't deserve that after what he has done here. Nothing we can do though so just have to get on with supporting the club and the new people in charge.
VectisSaint Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 All calm here, has something happened? Got a point more than I expected on Monday.
Le Timmier Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 Absolutely gutted for Nigel, wish it hadn't happened as I do believe eventually, he'd have take us further and further. For me it's still really about this. Pochettino might well do an absolutely amazing job. However if he does and we finish top 10 or better next season will he leave if a big name side were to come knocking? I just feel that we would have eventually gone places under NA and that when we did, he'd have stayed loyal (like Moyes has to Everton). All speculation and 'what ifs' though. Time to turn the page.

Crab Lungs Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 well, we shall see if adkins lives up to the hype...or if he was at the right club for him, like lambert and norwich..... pearson was the last "next big thing"........... The difference between Pearson and Adkins is massive. Pearson's sides don't really play good football, for a start. God forbid I ever see him in the home dugout barking out orders or listening to his monotone drawls pre/post match..

God forbid I ever see him in the home dugout barking out orders or listening to his monotone drawls pre/post match.. I agree...but remember SOME saying pearson will manage england when we let him go...and the best young english manager etc adkins is miles better IMO...but his next job will tell us in some way whether he was at the right club at the right time (like lambert) or more than that its a hard call if you are being objective as both adkins and lambert have very similar records

McClaren, Pardew etc will always have clubs that just don't suit them. Everywhere Adkins has gone he's been successful. I'd put money on wherever he ends up next he'll be a success - again. Agree with you about the "right club, right time" thing...

Agree with you about the "right club, right time" thing... paul lambert (before this season started) had been a resounding success where ever he had been...didnt he do miracles at wycombe before doing miracles at colchester before back to back promotions with norwich......... I pray for adkins his next job is not his "villa" as like paul lambert now...his stock will hit the bottom compared to what it is now and we can all smoke the "next bobby robson" thing

Adkins is a completely different type of person/manager to Lambert, but has shared similar successes, yes..

Thedelldays Posted 23 January, 2013 Posted 23 January, 2013 Average at Livi and Wycombe IIRC. Adkins is a completely different type of person/manager to Lambert, but has shared similar successes, yes.. average at wycombe?....league 2 team to the league cup semi final...but it took its toll and they lost in the playoffs... like said...where ever adkins goes next, they will be expecting him to promoted a team immediately.........which is harsh but that is the praise we, and the media have given him....just hope he stays away from blackpool as that WILL be a villa job for him IMO
