Dig Dig Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 the only way a protest would work is if there was someone who would listen like Askham did, like rupert did! The reason why this is pointless is that nobody cares what SISA think anymore and Cortese isnt answerable to anyone. NC believes he's acting in the best interests of a multi-million pound business so why should he give a f*ck what anyone thinks. We are supporters and we want saints to do well. Who's to say that Cortese hasn't got it right again? As for Nigel, thanks for everything, you're a multi-millionaire now made for life with an impeccable CV!! Life is so unfair!! And you know that for sure do you? In anycase, why is the money important? Adkins was a proud man who believed in his own convictions who now has an undeserved sacking on his "impeccable" CV. This will have hurt him professionaly and no amount of fans attempt to sweep it under the carpet will change that.
Saint_Ash Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 Christ, are people actually considering waving hankies?! Why not shout "coo-ey" while you're at it, ffs! This really made me laugh! I hope to god there is no effeminate hanky waving going on.show displeasure, maybe sing only one Nigel Adkins, then get behind the team and help get us the three points that would take us six points from relegation! Junction 9 Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 The only way to make a protest that will be felt by the board is to stay away. It's not quick (ST holders obviously can't have an effect this season) and requires a lot of fans to individually do it but it will ram the message home like nothing else. In this age of win at all costs nothing else will work. TBH after this strange decision I'm prepared for relegation anyway so sales would go down automatically. If the new guy pulls it around then fair play to him but with Reading (stable manager - unlike us) and QPR (the much maligned Harry in charge) looking like they are picking up form my money is on bottom 3 now. You don't make it clear what the message is? For the board and Cortese to leave? For the club to be sold? What?
Gambol2K9 Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 I'm confused by the mixed messages on here. I shall protest by dressing as a clown for the remaining home games.

I know you're on holiday now getting some sun, I'm really sorry, but can you come back please because I've made a terrible mistake letting you go! I just saw the white hanky waving protest on Sky and it was then that I could see the error of my ways! No hard feelings mate?
solentstars Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 No white hanky for me. Not a young kid anymore .just got to accept novels not coming back and the only protest they will understand is people boycotting the club not buying tickets.. Merchandise etc.so its not going to happen. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

JRM Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 it seems clear to me that fans want to make their voices heard and will sing Adkins name , 94% out of 10500 who voted on echo website disagreed with cortese decision , however most don't like the idea of the hankies as it just isn't a good thing to do. you'd look a bit of a plonker waiving a hanky towards directors box , far better to have a vocal approach. one Nigel adkins

saint_sinner Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 What on earth are you on about? was a reply to Dig Dig comment above that a protest wouldn't work! Just looking on the other side that if it did work what Cortese might do! Call Nigel and say he'd made a mistake! What else could possibly be the outcome of this hankie protest? Just looking on the other side that if it did work what Cortese might do! Call Nigel and say he'd made a mistake! What else could possibly be the outcome of this hankie protest? I never said there should be a protest and the hankie idea is stupid. No one will be doing it. Of course I know that Adkins won't be reinstated, everyone knows that but that doesn't mean fans shouldn't show their appreciation for he has done for us and not be so crass as to assume that just because he would have got a pay off, it somehow means that Adkins doesn't deserve the fans support in this. I'm grateful for what Nigel has done and he deserves our thanks but a protest tonight isnt the way. The last thing we need to do is negatively affect the team from getting a result tonight
West End Saint Posted 21 January, 2013 Share Posted 21 January, 2013 I will show my support and appreciation for Nige but you can shove your hanky right up your arse I am not having that. Gutted for Nigel it is very unfair but is is not the team or Pochettino's fault & I will be getting behind him & the team COYS
