Anti Cortese chants for Monday?

Tbh has Cortese actually got much wrong since he's joined the club?

I don't agree with the Adkins sacking and think the timing is bad, but the again I didn't agree with the Pardew sacking and look at us now.

If it wasn't for Cortese convincing Markus we might not have a club. Cortese comes across as a complete ****, but he is a businessman who wants success and up to now his decisions have seen us rise from the bottom of League One to the Premier League.

When you dont pay your bill, walk round in high heels, thats cortese

When your hate all the fans, given the local press bans, that Cortese

bells will ring, ting a ling a ling and you'll sing "he comes from Italia"

when you look like nick nack, have given our nige the tick tack, thats Cortese

I want to vent my anger towards this C UNT. Not the new manager. Ideas?

So you want a Stamford Bridge style atmosphere which affects first team performance in home games?

You may not be happy with Adkins sacking, but remember without Cortese/Liebherr we may not have a club or at the very least be in the lower leagues still. Force Cortese out of the club and I'd guess the Liebherr estate would sell up.

People were starting similar threads when Pardew was sacked. Cortese made a good decision then, maybe he has this time aswell even if it seems very harsh now.

How about we get behind the new manager and don't sing about Adkins or Cortese in order to provide a positive atmosphere for the team to win on Monday vs Everton?

So you want a stamford bridge style club atmosphere with no loyalty, no soul, no values and a revolving door manager policy essentially becoming one man's personal plaything?

If everyone sits and nods along with everything Cortese does then thats what we'l get.

Precisely. We need to show our opposition to this disgraceful move if only to show the rest of the footballing family that we in no way endorse this sort of behaviour. Not in the name of SFC you arsehole.

Along with most other fans I know, I'll be singing about Adkins on Monday night. Its a sad day when the likes of Chelsea appear less plastic than some of our fans that will accept anything their chairmen does just for an outside sniff of the Champions League. Classic modern day football fans.

Completely different situations. Did Abramovich take over Chelsea when they were in League One, with 10 point penalty and on the verge of extinction?

Precisely. It might not make a jack load of difference to what NC does but I for one dont want other fans thinking this is how our club acts, its the chairmen on his lonesome.

Good. If this is what SFC has become then get him out as soon as possible.

But is it worth doing that if it risks the team not performing in a volatile atmosphere? Chelsea have struggled with the home fans being negative, is that what you'd like to see at St Mary's?

Yeah, that's what he wants. Chasing Champions League football with a ground full of football tourists who won't dare say or shout a thing against the club, loves the "business" aspect of football. Sums up all that is wrong with modern football fans.

He took them over when they were broke and facing financial peril. Chelsea, before his massive investment, were not dramatically bigger then we are now. NC has NOT put money is, Markus did.

Chelsea were as much on the verge of extinction as we were: ie not at all on the verge of extinction.

That's one thing I've really noticed today. Some of our fans will take absolutely anything for the chance of some CL pipedream nonsense. Forget everything else, nothing else matters as long as we can play FC Clug once within the next 10 years, which they'll probably watch down the pub anyway. Forget pride in the city, forget pride in the fans, WE WANT IT, AND WE WANT IT NOW.

Shameful.

My point was when we were taken over. Not where we are now. Some people have serious short memories.

If it's the sort term cost of letting the club know how we feel I could live with that. I don't want us to drop points, but looking at the bigger picture, a few points here and there aren't the end of the world. And its not the same as Chelsea - we're not going to be booing any of our players (Torres etc) and I can't see too many people advocating having a direct dig at the new manager - can you?

This. I am firmly in agreement.

Our club was on the verge of extinction when Markus advised by Cortese bought us.
No we weren't. There have been clubs in far, far worse situations than us that have kept going. Liebherr and NC got us at an absolute bargain and fair play to them for doing it. Doesn't mean we have to accept EVERYTHING NC does.

I remember plenty, just your point was strange. Both sides had potential, debt and needed to be restructured. Is your point that because we came from further down se should hush up and nod along? To be fair Chelsea went from mid table makeweights to champions of europe, they'v come quite a way too ... should they also nod along to whatever Roman wants?

Not advocating accepting everything. The man comes across as a ****, but to chant against him is pathetic.

If Markus didn't buy the club with the help of Cortese the likelehood is we would have never had Adkins as our manager anyway.

Posted this on another thread, sums up how I feel about the whole current situation:

The club took away the season ticket of a long-standing, loyal supporter for disagreeing with our ticketing policy - some on here lapped it up and didn't care.

The club p****d off and got rid of a load of loyal hard working office staff - some on here lapped it up and didn't care.

The club treated absolute legends such as Matt Le Tiss like s**t, many didn't care and lapped it up.

The club got rid of the people who'd been selling programmes on their behalf for the last 20 years through thick and thin and replaced them with expensive agency staff - some fans lapped it up and said they didn't care.

The club have now got rid of one of our most successful, popular and genuinely likeable managers in our history, having negotiated his replacement while he was working his socks off to get us results - and some fans lap it up and don't care.

Thats fair enough, but its not how I want my club run and I'll be using the Everton game to get that point across. If you think that means we'll lose 3 points, I can live with that, we've lost 3 points before and we'll lose them again.

Why is it "pathetic"? Wouldn't have been beyond the realms of possibility for NA to leavy Scunny and end up at ours regardless as who took us over. And anyway, that's not really the point is it.

Spot on. I've been saying the same for ages and been abused for it. It shows what utter helmets some of our fans are.

Again I put up a thread asking for alternatives to get our views across without chanting at the everton game, what did it get? One suggestion to write a letter and a load of tosh about not upsetting the players. Im honestly not trying to be a total wang but, if you accept plenty of us are angry and want to let Cortese know, how else would you suggest this be done ...?

It's pathetic because what exactly is it going to solve? Adkins is gone, he won't be coming back, I don't like it but s*** happens. We can either cry over it like girls or get behind the team we supposedly support for the rest of the season.

There is a thread in The Lounge where "Nutjobs' often accuse P*mpey supporters of not challenging the owners during the period when they lived beyond the means of the club.

We can fill a 32,600 stadium when successful, but would struggle to get beyond say 35,000 on a regular basis even if we were a top six club, and yet we all let Mr Cortese carry on in a Peter Storrie type of way with no challenge.

i appreciate there are many differences in the way P*mpey bought the FA Cup and we spent £30k last summer on marque signings; but there are also similarities; and one is the lack of integrity, decency and an understanding of the supporters expectations from a CEO of what is basically a club representing a proud provincial city.

Yep. Lets just accept everything the chairman decides to do without complaint. We dont want to "cry over it like girls" about it now do we.

Please explain how chanting anti Cortese songs is going to have any positive effect or any effect at all?

Well it'll show the chairman and sky TV that we back Adkins and dont back the decision, I'll be singing Nigels name on monday night as will most people i know that are going. What will you be doing? Watching it on the telly if at all?
