This is exactly how it was going to be seen. It will be a shot in the arm for all our rivals. The managers will use that in their team talks against us.

Brilliant. I'm kind of lost for words, still.

Our rivals see that we've taken four points in the last two games, but must feel we're handing them back, with interest still to come.

C^ntese, I think this trumps the SCW fiasco Lowe inflicted on us.

from the qpr site;

'Sounds like the new bloke is the next Mark Hughes, got sacked by Espanyol in November after they only had 9 points from 13 games. Since his sacking they now have 18 points from 19 games.'

Villa fans rejoice

Have fun with a manager who doesn't speak a word of English!

What complete idiots. This could well play into our hands

Shows how bad january has been for us that my favourite football moment of it so far has been Southampton sacking their manager!

Stupid stupid stupid but the best news I've had in a while

What a ridiculous move!

Thank you Cortese, you crazy I-tie bastard.

One of the best things that could've happened to Villa today

Strange but brilliant

Great news, Southampton now nailed on to go down IMO.

Difficult to disagree with those comments.

Frankly, we (well Cortese anyway) do derve to go down after this episode.

sad but true - fans accross England will want us relegated after this

It's exactly what we would be saying had it been the other way around! So can't really argue against it?

Lambert out, Adkins in???

Would be a great appointment for them. Although I think I would prefer him to go to a championship team and get them in the Prem and stay there?

But if he takes another championship job he may become just a "championship" manager like Warnock?

Every text/e mail I have received today is mystified why we have sacked him. So, either the Italian is a tactical genius or he is a *****. 100% off my contacts have gone for the ***** option. I hope they are wrong but sadly I think they are right.

Hilarious responses all round, the players haven't changed, and as long as their work-rate doesn't change and Pochettio doesn't drop Sir Rickie then nothing much has changed really.

Can't see how other managers are going to use this in their team talks either, when Reading/QPR/Villa/Newcastle are playing whoever are their respective managers really going to be saying 'Let's get 3 points today because Southampton sacked their manager' ? Rather than 'Let's get 3 points today because we need to push on and stay up' ?

Ponchetto is going to have alot of trouble motivating and explaining tactics given his woeful grasp of the language. Not his fault, but why the **** has he replaced Adkins? Top 10 for me to prove himself, or he's no better than Adkins. Fully expecting 3 points at home to Everton now. No pressure then.
