Jonnyboy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Who else switched straight over after reading this? Rule 1
LGTL Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP - My teams press, are aggressive. Spoke to Mourinho about managing in England.
Pilchards Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 I expect Corteses mind decided to sack Nige after the Sunderland home result. Could well be right, If he has been studying the team lately then I expect he and Cortese have been lining up players recently and you can be sure Forren is a MP/Reed & Cortese signing. I do expect some exciting players to come in to settle the fans base as we are fickle as ****.
Suhari Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Here you go! Thats her - I'd recognise them anywhere.
Noodles34 Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying "I don't care about those on The Saints Web, they are just...hoe do you say...? Knobs!"
EBS1980 Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Wonder who his backroom staff will be. If he doesn't speak very good english i wonder if there will be an english coach in the team to help get the views across?
Appy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying He has no idea who signed Forren. Wasn't him and wasn't Adkins. He ddin't say that. He said "Southampton".
Tokyo-Saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying "I don't care about those on The Saints Web, they are just...hoe do you say...? Knobs!"
Saint Scott Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Wonder who his backroom staff will be. If he doesn't speak very good english i wonder if there will be an english coach in the team to help get the views across? We're screwed for Monday night. He'll have to use Gazzaniga as his interpreter!
itchen_dan Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Wonder who his backroom staff will be. If he doesn't speak very good english i wonder if there will be an english coach in the team to help get the views across? We recently appointed a Spansih coach to help Ramirez...
LGTL Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 He ddin't say that. He said "Southampton". Exactly. He has no idea. Southampton could mean anyone in the club.
a1ex2001 Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying "I don't care about those on The Saints Web, they are just...hoe do you say...? Knobs!" Now that would at least put a smile on my face!
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP: "I am aware of the great players of Southampton's squad. Gaston Ramirez is a special talent, so are the likes of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Guly do Prado."
Appy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Wonder who his backroom staff will be. If he doesn't speak very good english i wonder if there will be an english coach in the team to help get the views across? Ian Branfoot. Just so the fans are shown Cortese values the history.
Saint Garrett Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Cortese has told him that his name is Southampton.
Dig Dig Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying "I don't care about those on The Saints Web, they are just...hoe do you say...? Knobs!" About right! This guy seems to be very astute!
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 We recently appointed a Spansih coach to help Ramirez... He isn't a top level coach - is basically there as a translator. He was a Saints in the Community Coach and will be useful now to translate I guess but isn't going to be coaching the squad.
Jonnyboy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 So apart from gaston, who else speaks to Spanish at saints?
Suhari Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP: "I am aware of the great players of Southampton's squad. Gaston Ramirez is a special talent, so are the likes of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Guly do Prado." And that is how easy it is to lose a fan base.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Any truth in the rumour MLG has been summoned to the ground to present all his FM stats to pastachainos?
Saint Garrett Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 He spoke with 'his friend Mourinho'. Now can we have Ronaldo please ?
Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2013 Author Posted 18 January, 2013 So apart from gaston, who else speaks to Spanish at saints? Guly may be able to understand it. Portuguese and Spanish are not too dissimilar.
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 So apart from gaston, who else speaks to Spanish at saints? Gazza. Fonte and Guly maybe a bit.
alpine_saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Fonte as well then. Bet J-Rod speaks some too.
Saint Scott Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 So apart from gaston, who else speaks to Spanish at saints? Gazza
Jonnyboy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Here you go! [? /QUOTE] Has she ever made a sex in front of a camcorder
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Fonte as well then. Bet J-Rod speaks some too. Think he has said before that he can't!
Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2013 Author Posted 18 January, 2013 Bet J-Rod speaks some too. His father is naturalised English, I wouldn't bank on Jay Rod speaking much.
Pilchards Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Reporter 'As they have goalkeeping issues at the club, do you have plans to resolve it?' MP ' I plan to get someone in called Forepast as I hear he is a good coach.'
70's Mike Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP: "I am aware of the great players of Southampton's squad. Gaston Ramirez is a special talent, so are the likes of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Guly do Prado." Doing well until the last name
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 So apart from gaston, who else speaks to Spanish at saints? Some of the waiters perhaps?
Toadhall Saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Feck me when they opening a Tapas bar then?
Leicestersaint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Poor from Cortese not to show up. Typical behaviour from the coward and back-stabbing traitor he is.
Webby Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Look, I'm gutted about this but MP could've been approached say, 6 weeks ago with a view to taking over and since then he has researched the club and the players. Wouldn't you do the same? Doesn't mean he was given the job back then or anything else sinister. If Nigel had to go, I actually prefer that a man was lined up to replace him immediately, rather than a caretaker period while we interviewed new suitors.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 MP saying He has no idea who signed Forren. Wasn't him and wasn't Adkins. It MUST have been Adkins and the committee as one because there is no chance that a player can be bought without the Manager knowing. NO CHANCE.
Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2013 Author Posted 18 January, 2013 On ssn! He can speak some english. Well, he can say..' Okeeeyyyyy...'
pap Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Look, I'm gutted about this but MP could've been approached say, 6 weeks ago with a view to taking over and since then he has researched the club and the players. Wouldn't you do the same? Doesn't mean he was given the job back then or anything else sinister. If Nigel had to go, I actually prefer that a man was lined up to replace him immediately, rather than a caretaker period while we interviewed new suitors. Agree. The Pardew sacking was worse in that respect. People would be moaning if the club had no permanent manager lined up.
Saint Scott Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Well, he can say..' Okeeeyyyyy...' His opening two sentences were in english.
hypochondriac Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 I think the decision had been taken after Leeds. He seemed resigned then.
hypochondriac Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Typical behaviour from the coward and back-stabbing traitor he is. I never trusted the slimy Italian. It was clear he only cared about himself.
KK the 2nd Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 ... he's got good references from the fans?
Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Apparantly he said in English "I am happy to be here in this amazing weather." Understands English and promises to speak it well soon. Source: Henry Winter
Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2013 Author Posted 18 January, 2013 Name dropping Mourinho. This is all about wider international exposure and profile, isn't it? An exercise in c*ck swinging rather then continuity.
Thedelldays Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 I never trusted the slimy Italian. It was clear he only cared about himself. you are loving this
Saint Troy Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 cortese turns up the whole conferene is about adkins - is that fair on the new guy - hey i dont like it at all but hes our manager now and this is his first press conference - far better tp be about the club going forard - could turn up and bin off al the questions but that doesnt help anyone really, cowardly or smart move by cortese not to be there - probably the latter?
KK the 2nd Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Apparantly he said in English "I am happy to be here in this amazing weather." /QUOTE] He did indeed but that was it ... rest all in Spanish
Suhari Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 cortese turns up the whole conferene is about adkins - is that fair on the new guy - hey i dont like it at all but hes our manager now and this is his first press conference - far better tp be about the club going forard - could turn up and bin off al the questions but that doesnt help anyone really, cowardly or smart move by cortese not to be there - probably the latter? Bang on. I expect there will be a Football Focus or Telegraph exclusive interview with him once the transfer window closes, giving him the chance to restate his ambition for the club. And which many on here will call self publicising propaganda.
Under Weststand Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Well that was cringeworthy, and disgusting that Cortese left him on his own facing the press. Spineless & classless are two words that spring to mind.
Sheaf Saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Gazza. Fonte and Guly maybe a bit. Fonte and Guly are naturally Portuguese speakers, but it is very similar to Spanish and generally one can understand the other.
