Pochettino: "there's no need necessarily to bring in new players before the window closes"

To be fair, if he did a Redcrapp and immediately said we need to strengthen because the players are crap I suspect that would have a more negative impact.

Pochettino - "I know about the squad, been researching it for weeks"

Pochettino: "there's no need necessarily to bring in new players before the window closes"

I assume someone is translating these comments what with the fact that he doesn't speak a word of english according to some on here!

@officialsaints: Mauricio Pochettino: "Our supporters are a very important part of the Club. I hope I can convince them with work and honesty." #saintsfc

At least he had the decency not to say integrity, hope this is the first of many press conferences during which he is appologising starting with one on Monday for our thrashing at home by Everton.

MP "I don't know who Forren is, I've got no idea about this deal"

Guess that one has gone by the board then, the lad has been saved a world of hurt not having to attend that conference!

Gutless from Cortese not to be at the press conference and explain his decsion. even if just to show his support for his new man.

Would you expect any less from our tosspot dictator

Not the new guys job to apologise, he hasn't done anything wrong himself.

He is the public face and mouthpiece of the club and I hope to watch him shamble away from our club at the end of the season never to be seen again I'd taking Cortese with him but we couldn't be so lucky.

Cortese has gone to the trouble of getting Pochettino and basically thrown him to the wolves straight off the bat. Appoints him the week of the club's best two results of the season, on a Friday before the weekend so fans will still be raw on Monday, and then leaves him to do the press conference on his own with a translator? Doesn't even try to sweeten the deal with a new signing?

Doesn't sound like a manager getting very much support to me. Sounds eerily Poortvliet.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for him, I think. He's come over bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, on a mission, crusade even depending on how passionate he is, and he has to work with the Don.

Poor sod. Feels like a re-run of Abramovich and Ranieri...

Asked who recruited Vegard Forren, MP said (with a smile): "Southampton". #saintsfc
