JRM Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 You carry on mate. But have your protest in the knowledge that it won't even appear on Cortese's radar. yeah ok then Mr Cortese, we'll see on monday, when he looks our from his warm seat and hears the fans singing Adkins name from the real man of southampton, Ted Bates, he'd love to knock that statue down if he could. niceandfriendly Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 Ultimately, we'd be able to sing Nigel Adkins' name for the whole 90 minutes without too many issues - the manager's not going to ****ing understand, is he? Very good point! Actually, screw what I've been saying about protests being a bad idea... get them in quick before MP learns the lingo.
Professor Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 Managers come and Managers go. We still don't know why the close season was a failure as far as transfers went, it may have been down to Cortese rather than Adkins, but as a fan, its the future of the Club that matters, regardless of who is the owner or the manager. The personal ownership of what used to be locally based clubs is not a good thing, but we have to live with it. If anyone is seriously thinking of a protest, they need to ask if that will help us win the game against Everton. If it won't, then don't do it. supersonic Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 Before the game or after the game, do what you want. A protest isn't going to do anything apart from more negative stuff. During the game protest is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Back Pochettino, it's his first game, him and the players need support, not moronic behaviour from the crowd. Adkins won't be coming back. May I suggest that if you plan on turning up on Monday and are not going to support the team and the manager during the 90 minutes then don't ****ing bother turning up. All we have to do is look at Chelsea and see where that's getting them

Why do you find it so hard to understand that people are angry and disillusioned that the manager who took us up two leagues and put us in a comfortable position of 15th in the table has been sacked out the blue. He's down to earth and honest, which can't be said for a lot in the PL. Its not Courtese's money that has helped bring the success by the way. Truth is, from speaking to people involved with the club months ago, he's had a grudge against Adkins for months and has been looking to sack him. You might be comfortable with the club merely being another big business venture for NC, but others want one that respects spirit, pride and loyalty. Get off your high horse.
