Fans Protest - Everton Home

I think it's about time fans started letting chairmen know that they can't just do what they want. Football clubs are big business but they are only big business because of the loyal supporters, you can't mess around constantly and it just be ok

Grow up people. I'm as shocked as anyone by this but we need to get behind the team and the new manager.

Sadly, as a breed, football fans are prone to cutting off their noses to spite their face. People can show admiration for Adkins without contributing to an atmosphere which will ultimately affect team performance.

Football fans tend to have this "two wrongs make a right" mentality....

Surely the majority of Saints fans are cleverer than that?

Think we should make the most of a TV game to show everyone watching what we thought of Nigel, 90mins of singing his name. After that though we have to get behind the team and the new manager or the negativity could end up with bad results and potentially relegation.

Nutshell

Why? All the fans that sang corteses name and put their fingers in their ears at anything bad was said about him should be lauding this decision and be please he has acted decisively in the long term best interests of the club. He has a vision and ambition we've been told and he is simply following that.

OK so it isn't going to achieve anything or change the fact Adkins has gone, but as a set of supporters surely we have to make our voices heard. Before, during and after the game.

If you really feel the need to protest, do it before and after.

But to do it during the game when we all want the players to perform is just daft.

Remember we are not Chelsea!! we are not safe by a long way and we are in a relegation battle, this new guy has done nothing wrong and deserves our full support, there is nothing wrong with one nigeladkins chants but you have to give the new guy a chance.

We still have to get behind the team as nobody is bigger than Southampton FC and that includes Cortese

I think sacking the manager who has built a squad that achieved two successive promotions and to whom those players respected and trusted is more likely to have a detrimental effect on the team performance than a protest from fans. A protest is the right thing to do. I won't be there as I'm ****ing sick of this club and that nasty little **** who runs it, but best of luck to those who organise it.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO......this will achieve nothing other than reflect negativley agisint the team. This is a winnable game and we should not loose sight of that. NEVER NEVER NEVER inside the ground.

This.

it would be entirely stupid.

People need to start engaging their brains and clam down a bit.

Seconded. It is OUR club not Cortese's. But for those concerned Everton will be the LAST game I go to all season.

No its not. It's the property of the Liebherr family, and he is their representative.

FFS, you lot need to calm down; the manager needs 18 points from 16 games, and he needs your support to do it, not you lot behaving like a bunch of spolit brats.

Imo this change was going to happen in the summer anyway.

We've been dealt a **** hand (in terms of losing our beloved manager) that's undeniably true. But what we don't do is lose the plot and act like kids and throw our toys out of the pram, because let's face it that would just be an embarrassing thing to do. Especially for adults.

As we are supporters of Southampton Football Club. The only logical thing to do is support Southampton Football Club and this new guy.

Your usual wind up merchant routine, class, as ever. Do you honestly believe that is all football is about? Who's name is on the deed? The club is not just any other business, it has a history, a tradition and has relied on the fans for a lot longer then it has on any owner..

What do you want me to say ? The Liebherrs own it, which means to all intents and purposes, NC owns and does what he likes with SFC. I genuinely believe there is no oversight.

You lot are invited along for the ride (cost: single or season tickets) or you can p*ss off and take up backgammon.

Thats what football is all about nowadays. Look at the Arsenal ticket price thing; if you dont pay it, someone else will.

i'll be protesting before the game, ted bates statue, 7.45pm.

during the game sing one Nigel Adkins non-stop.

let that c*nt cortese know what we think of his decision.

You carry on mate. But have your protest in the knowledge that it won't even appear on Cortese's radar.

So we just take it? We accept this has happened, let Cortese do what he wants and just roll over? What the f*ck is wrong with some of us..

Honestly? Your opinion doesn't really bother me, that's yours to have. I disagree. I want to support a club worth supporting and I hoped that I did.

To be frank yes, you are being a wind up merchant. Yes, people have different opinions, it's a forum. Choosing to express yourself the way you have today? I can't but feel you'r just doing it for some attention. I'd suggest if you were "just here for the ride" you'd fit in more up at Chelsea.

He's right though.

Might not be very often but he is in this case. A protest is going to do nothing except affect the team and harm the club.

Cortese isn't going to change his mind and this is hardly a rash decision he has made.
