Matthew Le Tissier Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Salomon Kalou anyone??? He's apparently looking for a return to the premiership with ourselves and QPR interested? Not sure how reliable that is. Also noticed In the paper today Florent Malouda is up for grabs in a free if you can his afford his £50k plus a week wages. Decent player. I would welcome either but don't think they warrant the wages? Not sure what the going rate is these days for our players. We must be offering the likes of Shaw and lambert a decent wage? And obviously Ramirez is doing well. Think to have any joy in the premiership you need to have a few players worthy of £50k plus a week? Dunno, either way IDE love either of those to come here

Monk Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Kalou and Malouda are **** and the laziest trainers I've ever watched.
Window Cleaner Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Kalou is at Lille I think so there would be a transfer fee involved, probably them giving us money to get rid of the useless ****
Dig Dig Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Where have we been linked with him? Until this is known, we don't know if this should be in the who we've been linked thread or the HCDAJFU thread, so Stain, please await confirmation. Also MLT, they are both **** and if you think the club should be interested in either then you don't get your own football club.

Matthew Le Tissier Posted 17 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 17 January, 2013 I don't know how you class them as ****? Both have more international and European experience than any of our players. They clearly are not ****. Certainly streets ahead of the likes of Gully Do Prado who can't even take a corner or dead ball without ****ing it up. However I'm sure he's on alot less money so if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. I appreciate your opinions tho. Thank you.

So does Boswinga, do you want him at 65K a week as well. These blokes are cashing in on their glory years in a very strong Chelsea side. I think Kalou actually plays for Lille most of the time but he's by no means a unanimous favourite with the fans as he's supposed to be doing the same job that Hazard did, probably for more money.. Then again they'd gotten use to his sort with Joe Cole.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 17 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Like I said I don't think they would warent the wages they would want. Anyone know what are current players are on.
pingwing Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 Certainly streets ahead of the likes of Gully Do Prado who can't even take a corner or dead ball without ****ing it up. Did you just mix Guly with De Ridder?!? Guly can at least participate in a game of football and provide some key passes, assists and put in a good corner, all this season. De Ridders contribution has been, run with the ball, fall over, fail to put on a corner, get someone else to do it. If someone needs ridiculing it has to be De Ridder who should have the lowest pass completion rate in the league (or at least at saints) Anyway international experience doesn't = good, just they have a good agent/reputation. Neither would do much or improve the team we have (or justify 65k a week).
hasper57saint Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 So MLG can you justify £50.000 a WEEK for ANY player? Apart from a Nurse/Doctor no one is worth more than £50.000 a YEAR!!! It all comes down to GREED!

Dunno, either way IDE love either of those to come here How many players who get £50k a week are actually worthy of it? That is so difficult to judge that I don't think that I would use it as a reason for buying a player. QPR should be the lesson on that.
St_Tel49 Posted 17 January, 2013 Share Posted 17 January, 2013 (edited) So MLG can you justify £50.000 a WEEK for ANY player? Apart from a Nurse/Doctor no one is worth more than £50.000 a YEAR!!! It all comes down to GREED! Comparing apples and pears. It all comes down to supply and demand. Players get silly wages because they are good and someone is willing to pay them. The earnings of a Dr, nurse or teacher is irrelevant to the negotiations. I am not saying that it's morally right but it is just the way it is. You have the option of not going to football or paying for Sky so that you don't fund the inequities. PS Just in case you misunderstand me - I think that wages paid to players in the top teams are lunatic, but as long as football is treated a rich man's plaything there is nothing we can do about it except not go and not buy Sky. Matthew Le Tissier Posted 17 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 17 January, 2013 If you want a decent proven player you have to pay the price. Simple as. Unless you are lucky enough to bread the talent. I don't for one second agree with the crazy wages, however. Proven Good players come at a price. Either a crazy signing on fee or a stupid weekly wage. There are bargains out there as we have proven. Lol gully can put a good corner in! Lol You are so right. Hopefully no one will come in and snap him up in January. I hear there's a long list of premiership clubs after him! De ridder doesn't even play so I woundlt comment. However Gully gets played most weeks and if you think he's premiership standard that's your opinion. There is not any other premiership club that would consider him as a possibility. Fact. pingwing Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 Lol Gully can put a good corner in! Lol There's only one L. And he's put some decent corners in when he's been on duty so far this season, pretty sure you've been watching a different set of games. De ridder doesn't even play so I woundlt comment. However Gully gets played most weeks and if you think he's premiership standard that's your opinion. There is not any other premiership club that would consider him as a possibility. Fact. De Ridder has had a few appearances over christmas (as you probably don't know) so I am a bit confused to why you are just ranting about Guly and how someone like Kalou is a better option when Kalou one of those lazy know it all players that doesn't play for a team or listen to what his manager wants, hardly worth showing interest to when he will go to Qtar and we can keep our decent hard working players. Matthew Le Tissier Posted 18 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 18 January, 2013 (edited) Lol. How many minutes has de ridder played this season. He's clearly not a first choice player as is gully seems to be, based on appearances, which I'm sure you don't know. I appreciate your opinion and good on you. Gully needs some fans and if you can defend him I have to respect you for that. If a Hampshire league player put in the deliveries gully did last night it would be embarrassing. What was Gullys goals to games ratio? Mmmmmmmm.. Please let me know when you have googled it. And defend that. Not in his own goal either. SaintBobby Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 I reckon with Gully and Atkins, we should be fine. But I'll bow to the views of people who know Southampton's playing and coaching staff better than I do.....sigh....
SuperMikey Posted 18 January, 2013 Share Posted 18 January, 2013 F*ck me, at least when people were abusing Forecast and Pulis it was justifiable - Guly is a good player!
