chocco boxo Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 It seems that way to any premiership club at the moment. Certainly portrayed by the media. Are we getting the credit we deserve. Two quality goals last night and it seems all about how bad Torres is.
Jack Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 And to be fair, Chelsea drawing with us at home would be like us drawing at home to Barnsley last season. Not really acceptable.
Stepgar Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Lets do what reading did last year and just go about our business quietly while picking up vital points.
Dr Who? Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Do not care what anyone else thinks, I know we try and play football the right way, and are always improving. We are looking good. Long way to go, but feeling confident we can avoid the drop. Great manager, great team, some of the fans are ok too!

Ziggy Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 I am the only Saints fan at work and all the football fans (Villa being the main team) were very complimentary about us getting a point and certainly saw it as a positive rather than disaster. And of course I am still basking in our glorious win at Villa Park at the weekend.

Glad someone brought this up, it seems that the media and pundits alike think that the top four to five clubs in the premiership have the God given right to win everything, for example the Arsenal match on New Years day, all you heard was how Arsenal did not show up, yet nothing on how Saints prevented them from playing the game their way, there were some that gave us credit but it was a minority.
red&white56 Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 Whilst we're on the subject, the comments from Robbie Savage after Villa - if you lose to a team like Southampton then you really are in trouble (not his exact words but my memory of what he said!)

What's the problem? If they want to stay up, losing at home to a team like us is a disaster. What is the problem with you people?

This and similar posts: come on, this is theway the premiership is and has been for farken years! hype hype hype, big 4, big 6 blah blah blah. Just go oversear for a holiday and see what shirts the locals wear - same old crap. You want the premiership? You have got it, warts and all. So until we are top 4 at the end of a season get used to it: we are just here to fill up the fictire list

What is the problem with you people? The problem I have, but I can't speak for anyone else, is that he doesn't show us any respect in that statement. His implication is that we are the worse team in the division, whereas our current form clearly shows that we are not. He's a pundit, he should do a better job than that.
hasper57saint Posted 18 January, 2013 Posted 18 January, 2013 So Robbie Savage was a great player eh? We tune in to Radio 5 on the way home (after losing the Solent signal) and his opinions reflect his arrogance. He's supposed to be a 'pundit'.* Not a very pleasant one but a Pundit none the less. * One who speaks 'authoritively' - really?!!!!
