Saint Charlie Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Talented Algerian Technician OR North African Nomad with Small Ears Discuss.
a1ex2001 Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Technically great really thought he was a great player in our nearly season.
Saint Charlie Posted 17 January, 2013 Author Posted 17 January, 2013 I really rated him. A bit Lallana like actually, great feet and played well between the lines. Scored one absolute cracker at SMS running from the halfway line.
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 I thought this was going to say talented Algerian tchnician OR dissident kidnapping terrorist - and put up a picture of him with a beard and storming a BP gas refinery in the Algerian desert....... Anyway I seem to remember enjoying his brief cameo during that season.....
saintrich Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 The goal he scored against Crewe was great - I thought he was going to tear up the league.
Bucks Saint Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Quality player. Often some distance above the rest of the team technically, I was glad we had him
Dellman Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 One of those who spent more time with a sick note than on the field
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Did he have small ears!!! Didnt know that, he was my favourite player , but now he can do one
Dig Dig Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 I hardly remember him. Will have to wait to see who is in scope for tomorrow
ludgershallsaint Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 One of those who spent more time with a sick note than on the field Yeah, and both seasons he was with us his sick note coincided with the winter.
SuperSAINT Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Quality player. Often some distance above the rest of the team technically, I was glad we had him This.
capitalsaint Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 On the subject of ears, wasn't it when he was on trial that the earlobe identification system started?
rooney Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 On the subject of ears, wasn't it when he was on trial that the earlobe identification system started? Maybe but I thought Rory Delap objected to that.
Pat from Poole Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 I liked him, even though Redknapp signed him. It was a shame he didn't play as often as he could have, otherwise the often well-refreshed Burley might have taken us up.
Le Timmier Posted 17 January, 2013 Posted 17 January, 2013 Loving these threads. Belmadi was the footballing version of Penfold off Dangermouse
st alex Posted 11 July, 2019 Posted 11 July, 2019 For anyone following the African Cup of Nations might have noticed that Belmadi's just managed to get Algeria into the semi-finals. An interesting managerial career, could he ever be a future Saints manager? Would ideally need a successful spell managing in Europe first. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djamel_Belmadi
Bad Wolf Posted 12 July, 2019 Posted 12 July, 2019 Always had a soft spot for him because he scored the first ever Saints goal that I saw live...On my 13th Birthday, a 2-0 win over Crewe. Quashie got the other one from the penalty mark.

I saw this game live & thought we'd be brilliant that season... Never quite happened. He was tremendous that game.
magnet Posted 12 July, 2019 Posted 12 July, 2019 He was an amazing layer but far to good for the players around him, he was always doing amazing passes and back heels but none of our team were quick minded enough to read it so looks stupid a lot of the time!
Foxstone Posted 12 July, 2019 Posted 12 July, 2019 We could do with some of his creativity and intelligent passing now. Lovely player to watch
Viking Saint Posted 13 July, 2019 Posted 13 July, 2019 I could be wrong, but did he score twice in a 2-0 home win against someone?? I remember being at the game but was a bit worse for wear...
niceandfriendly Posted 13 July, 2019 Posted 13 July, 2019 That beauty at the Northam end... can't remember who it was against. Joy to wacth

Dr. Kucho Posted 19 July, 2019 Posted 19 July, 2019 Belmadi wins the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, beating Mane’s Senegal. And good luck to the people from Paris and other major French cities.
