Legod Third Coming Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 Rickie Lambert v Fernando Torres. Don't like to say I told you so. But come on here and tell me now how you would rather have the Spanish waif than THE TOP ENGLISH STRIKER IN THE PREMIERSHIP. Any time, I'll be up for another hour or two celebrating... Slightly different three years down the line. Torres has only gone downhill since then...

Smirking_Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 I would still take the younger, quicker and frankly better Torres Mental

Tony F Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 (edited) Returning from the match....... I would say that Torres' problem is that his style of play is not matched to his team. Lambert's is very well matched. I would say the same of Demba Ba. When a player (especially a striker) has a style that fits his team then: Bingo Otherwise....... Drongo!!!! hypochondriac Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 I'll take that as an apology Would still take the torres of three years ago over the Lambert of three years ago. I am in a good mood though after the draw.

On a slightly more serious note, what impresses me about SRL (bias aside) is that he isn't quick but his brain is - I wondered whether he could cut it in the Championship, and here he is holding the ball up and beating Champions' League winning defences with his aerial ability. He is a class act. Shame we didn't get him five years sooner!!
kpturner Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 I still think Torres would be back to his best in any other team apart from Chelsea.
Noodles34 Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 80/1 each way (1234) £5. Happy at the moment, where is he in the league scorers?
Saint Scott Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 This seems fitting for this thread... Simon Peach @SimonPeach St Mary's Stadium & #SaintsFC's starting line-up tonight put together comes to less than the £50million #CFC spent on Fernando Torres. Smirking_Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 nah, he's had it Big fee, injuries and a poor start, its in his head now. He needs to do himself a favour and move on, he will get it back, but too many deamons are in his head in the PL
The Godfather Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 THE TOP ENGLISH STRIKER IN THE PREMIERSHIP. Any time, I'll be up for another hour or two celebrating... [/quote Defoe has 10 goals in the prem as well
Legod Third Coming Posted 16 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 16 January, 2013 Pah! You can't count Defoe - he gets the rebounds from Bale's shots
niceandfriendly Posted 16 January, 2013 Share Posted 16 January, 2013 Anyone want to tweet Matt Le Tiss to tell him to remind that pillock Merson on Soccer Saturday about his prediction that Lambert wouldn't score 10 this season? Would be funny to see, although he'd probably just say they were all lucky or he will claim penalties don't count.
