... surely deserves a thread of its own.

We've already seen shaw on one of his Bale-esque runs down the flanks in the previous game against villa but this time he does one better to find puncheon who controls it ever so well and struck it so sweetly. Im still stunned by that beauty of a goal from the build up to the strike and the fact its a feckin equalizer against Chelsea away!!

We can literally say, in one season alone, we have seen the kid shaw grown into possibly now one of the top 10 left backs in the league. His confidence has ballooned from being just solid in defending the ball when he first started till now bombing the opposition flanks with real intent. And as much as we moan about how much punch frustrates with the amount of time he takes on the ball, when he scores he does score some beauties...

One of my favorite goals this season already..

Was absolutely superb. Great finish but was all about Shaw really. Just like the first goal was all about Clyne's determination as well. Got two fantastic full backs there, lets hope we can keep hold of them both when they're in England shirts.

He made a similar run in the Villa game as well.

Very powerful and has more acceleration than I thought he did.

Glides along the floor just like Bale used to. Immense talent.

Shaw with a great run...Gaston with a brilliant flick to Punch who tees it up and directs a magical volley into top corner....

Yes MAGICAL Saints..

Didn't realise Gaston had flicked it??! Bloody advert popped up just as Shaw crossed it!

He did have a touch, but I'm not too sure if it was an intentional flick, or a mis-control in the box that flicked into the pass of Puncheon.

If it was an intentional flick, then take a bow son.

He's going to be some player.

I think it was intentional, reminded me of that beautiful cushioned through-ball he played for Nat Clyne for the 2nd (?) against villa at SMS.

Absolutely amazing goal.

Was stood in the upper tier and went absolutely mental.

Just seen it back on Football First and Punch's goal is even better than I remember, what a performance from the team!

Just a figure of speech, was stood up the whole game (surprisingly) thought the Prawn Sandwich Brigade would be out in force for this one.

Also nice that Chelsea let us sit anywhere we wanted, made a refreshing change.

:D

Would love to know how many we took up there, looked barely 1,000 to me...

More overall I think - I was sat with the Chelsea fans and the people in front of us, to the side of us and behind us were all Saints fans! Strangely one of them (just one) got thrown out for it...

You know, the more I watch it the more I'm convincing myself Ramirez' touch was intentional. On the third angle shown here: http://www.footytube.com/video/chelsea-southampton-jan16-152312 it certainly looks plausible

Was right in front of shaw's run -and followed the trajectory of the cross. Ramirez's touch wasnt intentional - was trying to taking it down into his path.

But punch's finish -that was the epitome of intent...
