Legod Third Coming Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Sadly the paucity of our squad means that any chance of doing a QPR and getting something from this game was an entirely unrealistic aspiration. Having a £12M flair player who is too sh*te away from home to make the first XI is a sad indictment too. The thing is, I believe that Gaston would be better in this game than Davis. Chelsea are giving us acres to play in and the one player we have who can use it well is on the bench. I also think Gaston wouldn't have cleared the ball directly to a goal-scorer, but what do I know!
pap Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 We've had the tippy tappy stuff but they've got the power to destroy us at will. Just hoping we keep it respectable.
MAY-Z Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 This Saints team cost about £12m how much did the Chelsea team cost? #cannycompete That hasn't stopped other teams beating them or getting a point Or it didn't stop Norwich beating man u,or villa beating Liverpool, every other club seems able to nick the odd win against the big clubs
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Davis has been pretty hopeless tonight though, it has to be said.
Le Timmier Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Guly & Davis start and we leave Lambert & Ramirez on the bench. Nice one, Nigel. You really are a clueless ****! People keep going on about how our goalkeepers have cost us points this season but how many points have Nigel's negative tactics cost us? Absolutely. The only way to have got anything from this game was to play all our best attackers. Nigel should have gone for a 1-0-0-10 formation. That would almost definitely have worked.
JackFrost Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Well if Ba scored for them that first half was certainly sheepish
Legod Third Coming Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 I guess it's nights like tonight you remember, we were League One two years ago. Chelsea have been Premier League for some time now with years of investment behind them (something like £180m in the starting line up) By that reason, we've done okay Worth remembering. Luis won't make mistakes like Jos because he is worth twenty times Jos's value... Fact of life, the higher your player salaries the further up the league you are... Give us five years to win the CL
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Adkins did the right thing fielding a weakened side. Didnt reduce our chances of getting a point much as they were pretty slim anyway. Result wont really affect us or them - our relegation battle will be decided elsewhere and Chelsea are already out of the title race after losing at home to QPR.
Dig Dig Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Davis has been pretty hopeless tonight though, it has to be said. He's been pretty poor in most games I've seen him in tbf. Goes missing for most of the game, not good defensively and not great going forwards.
bridge too far Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Well if Ba scored for them that first half was certainly sheepish That's why we need LAMBert on!
Ohio Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Well if Ba scored for them that first half was certainly sheepish You didn't see him eat the grass after he scored then?
saint lard Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Turning out every bit as hopeless as we expected, Probably will end up as bad as the FA Cup score, with accompanying dent to new-found though mis-placed post-Villa confidence. Our CB solution is now 8 months overdue and counting....... so very, very true. very dismayed with our transfer policy under Adkins.signed,or got loans in that are just not up to it....considering how many times we were told we were preparing for the premier league.
BigShadow Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Worth remembering. Luis won't make mistakes like Jos because he is worth twenty times Jos's value... Fact of life, the higher your player salaries the further up the league you are... Give us five years to win the CL ...unless you're Poorsmuff.
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 [/b] so very, very true. very dismayed with our transfer policy under Adkins.signed,or got loans in that are just not up to it....considering how many times we were told we were preparing for the premier league. We're in the premier league, so he's obviously done a lot right on the transfer front.
hypochondriac Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 He's been pretty poor in most games I've seen him in tbf. Goes missing for most of the game, not good defensively and not great going forwards. Yep. Was good against man city but not much since!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 We're in the premier league, so he's obviously done a lot right on the transfer front. well said that man
Glasgow_Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Remember where we were 3 years ago - keep calm & support the Saints
Thedelldays Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 That hasn't stopped other teams beating them or getting a point Or it didn't stop Norwich beating man u,or villa beating Liverpool, every other club seems able to nick the odd win against the big clubs If you really think Chelsea were going to lose 3 games in a row at home to teams mid table and below. You are very much mistaken I am one of the worst for having a pop at the team. But come on. Away to Chelsea, played well.... Not sure what any of you expect. Hooiveld is never a prem CB. But we have done well
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Our corners have been **** toniught, one thing you really need to get right at the big sides. Free kick in a good place though...these are the chances we need to take.
Thedelldays Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Yep. Was good against man city but not much since! Thought he was good against arsenal
BotleySaint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Awful delivery. Just get it in the danger zone. How hard can it be for a professional footballer?!
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 oh for christ sake, a right old waste of a chance there.
St Chalet Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Guly with a truly woeful waste of a free-kick.
Liquidshokk Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Why the hell would you not play Ramirez in this game?? Surely your most expensive, supposedly "best" player should be used against strong competition?!
Edmonton Saint Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 FFS Get Guly off. He is not Premiership quality in any way, shape or form.
BadgerBadger Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 utter deadball gash FFS - it amazes me how these guys do this footy thing for a living and they still cant put a decent frigging ball in
hypochondriac Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 That hasn't stopped other teams beating them or getting a point Or it didn't stop Norwich beating man u,or villa beating Liverpool, every other club seems able to nick the odd win against the big clubs Though tbf Chelsea have thrashed lesser teams or beaten them comfortably at home more often than losing to them.
mightysaints Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 its so poor, bad passing,Gully floats a free kick over everyone
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Why the hell would you not play Ramirez in this game?? Surely your most expensive, supposedly "best" player should be used against strong competition?! Sometimes you need to think about self-preservation in games like these, and he's not looking like a good traveller at the mo. After the weekend he's been rightfully dropped anyway.
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 I love Adkins and want him as our manager . But if its him that has any say in playing gully he has to be sacked for that alone.
Appy Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Dave Merrington fuming that Rodriguez is going off for Lambert.
Legod Third Coming Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Listen, this game isn't going to make or break our season, but it should tell the management those players who can play at the top level and those who can't! And as long as we change the ones who can't, eventually we'll come to Chelsea and win...
Thedelldays Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Why the hell would you not play Ramirez in this game?? Surely your most expensive, supposedly "best" player should be used against strong competition?! Because he has been utterly terrible away from home Somehow, managed to be one of the worst players on the pitch that also had villa players who we have never heard of
Matthew Le Tissier Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 And then he leaves gully on and take of rod
Dig Dig Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Sometimes you need to think about self-preservation in games like these, and he's not looking like a good traveller at the mo. After the weekend he's been rightfully dropped anyway. Plus carrying a knock from the weekend. Not worth risking him at all.
Colinjb Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Guly's first bad game since he came in for Adam. Right, come on Rickie......
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Plus carrying a knock from the weekend. Not worth risking him at all. Still, forget all that common sense. ADKINS OUT!
Liquidshokk Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Sometimes you need to think about self-preservation in games like these, and he's not looking like a good traveller at the mo. After the weekend he's been rightfully dropped anyway. Would have saved him for this game...
Thedelldays Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Would have saved him for this game... To do what? He has been utterly awful on the road Why would tonight be any different?
S-Clarke Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Would have saved him for this game... Bit stupid then, really isn';t it? Surley you save your best players for the games you have a chance of winning - not the games where you will most likeley lose anyway..?
Saint86 Posted 16 January, 2013 Posted 16 January, 2013 Guly is having a bad game. Nice goal by Lambert
