1st year scholar and Southampton U18's top scorer Ryan Seager has been called up to the England under 17 squad for a tournament in Portugal.

He looks to be a top prospect and played a key role in helping the under 18's win their league in the first half of the season.

Oh, and 17 in 2 weeks or so I think?

Raw maybe but he has talent, looks physically a decent prospect, not the quickest but clearly feels very comfortable in front of goal, decent touch.

Most are Raw at that age, you just need to look at the potential, and he could be a decent player

That said, he needs tonplay against better opposition to see more

Scored again for the U18s vs Reading today. Will be interesting to see if Seager is one of the players that Pochettino looks to fast-track through the ranks.

He is obviously talented but look at Sam Hoskins. He scores consistently at U21 level and had done at Rotherham end of last season. Behind Shaw, JWP etc he is one of the best U21 players yet is on loan at L1 Stevenage and on their bench.

What are his strengths this lad? Is he tall, strong, quick, clever?

From what i've seen of him (mainly highlights from U21 and U18 games) he's a classy finisher, clever on the ball, good technique. Possibly not the quickest in the world or the strongest, but he's clever in how he gets around his lack of physicality in his play.

If you rearrange the letters in 'Seager' I believe it spells 'Lambert'.
