melmacian_saint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 If he's an improvement on Jos then I guess it's fine. Although I'd stick with Fonte-Yoshida whenever possible. Of course, it would help knowing what really is wrong with Jose.
buctootim Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 WHAT ???? Sweden has most blond girls in the world : ) Norway second..... No way, if I may call you Jose. Norwegian women are mostly dark haired - Norway is about 10th in thr blondey tables. You get most blondes around the Baltic - Finland, Latvia / Estonia / Lithuania, Russia, Poland and Sweden have more.

Dig Dig Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Is the chairman first class? And have people been working hard behind the scenes? The fitness and medical team all work ever so hard so that the players can come in and be the best that they can be everyday. We all pull in the same direction at this football cub to achieve our common goal because a house divided against itself cannot stand
Professor Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 It was interesting to hear about Liverpool fans finding it hard to take that Southampton had out-manouvered them in the signing of a quality player. A club's 'history' has no bearing on its future and Liverpool fans old enough to remember when their team was consistenly winning league titles must already be noticing that they have to look further down the table for their club now. If the signing goes ahead it will be nice to have put one over on a club that relies more on past and fading glory than it does on current performance. Having looked at Forren's background and what has been written about him, I'm very surpised that Liverpool didn't get him signed up before they alerted other clubs to his availability, and probably insulted him, by demanding a 'trial'. Forren was discovered by Molde FK in 2008 when they met KIL/Hemne in the first round of the Norwegian football cup with Forren and two other young players impressing highly in a 3-1 victory. The three were invited to trial for Molde in a junior tournament following which Forren signed a 5 year deal with Molde. It is reported that he took the top Norweigen league by with storm and that European clubs, A.C. Milan, Newcastle, Liverpool and Hoffenheim have all watched him play. But Forren said that he was still young and had a long career in front of him so he would stay at Molde for a while, before moving to a bigger European league. He said that . He has also been l.inked with Lazio and F.C. Copenhagen and after winning the Norwegian league with Molde in 2011, the club rejected two offers from Club Brugge in December 2011. Forren made his debut for Norway U21 in 2008, playing a total of 14 matches for the under-21 team and scoring three goals. He was later capped twice for the under-23 team. He made his full debut for Norway in January 2012 as a substitute, but since October 2012 he has been first choice alongside Brede Hangeland in Norway's central defence.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Forren rejected Zenit in this window who offered him a lot of money. He wanted to join a Prem team. Source: Paper in Norway

Saint Charlie Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 From watching NA interview on Saints Player I would be very suprised if this doesn't happen.
mulletsaint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Sky Sports saying QPR are keeping tabs on the Forren situation and may step in.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Sky Sports saying QPR are keeping tabs on the Forren situation and may step in. NA said that when a contract for any new player is signed the club would announce anything and not before - he mentioned there have been some hijacks (probably meant Remy) but from his demeanour he was pretty happy and didnt deny Forren was close.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 I like the 'can he play CB' joke better. Not sure it will work here though. I can see Astori staying at Cagiarli until the summer. That's what happens on my FM game anyway. That is so 2013! 2012 was all about 'can he play at left back?' You are right, it doesn't work with CBs though.
Saint Scott Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Media: We all know about how popular Liverpool is in Norway. To have beaten Liverpool to this player is some cue isnt it? Adkins: Allegedly... (with a smerk)
Convict Colony Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 For ****s sake don't they do a temperature test before refitting subs !!! well those 3 are gonna have a long hard deployment hahaha
Tokyo-Saint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 must really help ease the strain on a lot of the fuk face stuff though?
Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 must really help ease the strain on a lot of the fuk face stuff though? which has now disappeared. Too many national defence secrets I suppose.
Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 internetz police are watching...!!!!11 Apparently the French locked down all telephone systems in Brest and Toulon for an hour and a half last Friday.

SaintNeil90 Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Is this thread actually about Foggen or is it just some morons chatting sh*t.
dubai_phil Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Has anyone asked yet why we are buying a Moldy footballer ?? Nope and fank fook nobody has tried to come up with a question about our tendency to last ditch defending at the end of games and put on an Allo Allo accent to vonder if ve vill see an improvement in our Vegard Action
Hamilton Saint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Media: We all know about how popular Liverpool is in Norway. To have beaten Liverpool to this player is some cue isnt it? Adkins: Allegedly... (with a smerk) coup

Saint Charlie Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 So assuming he signs would you put him in vs Everton instead of Jos? Think the season finished a while ago in Norway so wonder how fit he is.
Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Oh so that's why the whole Mali thing randomly entered into the thread no that was DD with his return to submarine life. That part got scotched though.
Kingsland Red Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 So assuming he signs would you put him in vs Everton instead of Jos? Think the season finished a while ago in Norway so wonder how fit he is. I would. (Hope this helps)
Toadhall Saint Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 So assuming he signs would you put him in vs Everton instead of Jos? Think the season finished a while ago in Norway so wonder how fit he is. Maybe from the bench if fit enough (and we are winning) if not fit enough then no.
Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Maybe from the bench if fit enough (and we are winning) if not fit enough then no. might play him at left back if Shaw is still not ready.
Charlie Wayman Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Is this thread actually about Foggen or is it just some morons chatting sh*t. As you say!
david in sweden Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 But the last Norwegian CB we signed was our Claus ....and he wasn't a bad deal either (£400K in 1996)....ended up with over ** 400 first team games to his credit and bled for the cause on a number of occasions..... **one of only a dozen players (and the only non-Brit.) to pass 400 apps. for Saints
CB Fry Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Just mentioned it on Five Live. Apologies if this is old news.... "close to signing" and Liverpool trial thing mentioned.

david in sweden Posted 15 January, 2013 Posted 15 January, 2013 Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Where is our scouting report David? We've been waiting DAYS............ Don't recognise the name, but he's Norwegian you see, (Swedes don't take them seriously- unless one of their long-distance skiers trounces a Swede in the Winter Games).....we should ask Norway Saint for an update (a regular poster on the Overseas site.)
