Much needed win. However showed our lack of options again 2nd half with us reduced to hanging on once again in the last 20 minutes. We have been poor in the last 20 minutes for weeks now and its something we need to change.

I am delighted but I think we made hard work of it - some of the subs are clearly not Pl standard - but at least we held on! We could beat Everton if we have Shaw and Ramirez and maybe Lallana back.

Phew......really worried about our back line now getting injured. Well done lads battled very well towards the end there and lady luck was on our side for a change. Onwards and upwards.

2nd half was diabolical from us, shows our urgent need to stregthen this window. - esp with the Injures to Gaston and Shaw, on top of Lallana and Fonte. We are stretched.

But this is the sort of win you need to grind out when you're down there, and we've shown the attitude and the courage to throw our bodies on the line to see it through.

I knackered after watching that, but then again I spent the whole match on my exercise bike.

Great performance, especially in the first half. Hope Shaw's injury isn't too bad.

dont care how...we won...

decent team performance...definitely need a top defender...really do.

Boruc was very good....some excellent takes in brave areas...with one really really great save.

Shaw was as usual very good

Lambert...unplayable, MoM by a distance..such a shame he had to play so far away from goal

rodriguez is worth a mention....poor in front of goal but great forward play

cork and morgan as usual

ramirez...what a complete passenger....he is miles better than that..

What a win. We started out nervously but clawed our way in to the game. Goal should never have been but it was not against the run of play. 2nd half saw Villa dominate from start to end - we did have a few bright moments that could have killed off the game, but all things considered (injuries especially) we were professional in closing out the game. That said, Villa should have scored a few today, but that wasn't to be...

COYS!!! League table looks tasty now!

Get in, huge win. Boruc did well today, for me that was the equivalent of Leeds away last year.

Seriously need to get a CB in ASAP, hope Shaw is ok too.

Great win but not really deserved, we didn't show up for the second half.

Boruc very good, Rodriguez great energy and running, Lambert good when he got his foot on it. Too weak in other areas, Hooiveld poor, Yoshida not great, Clyne not very good, cork and Schneiderlin often overrun. Puncheon flatters to deceive too, really good feet but little end product.

Boruc was awesome today.

We lacked a bit of urgency in the 2nd half to kill it off, but a great result.

Dubai Phil could be having fun with the Ladyboys tonight.

Great, great result. Achieved because i didn't look at the score until after final whistle. Very hard but always works!

Great win. As important as Leeds away last season. Great work but Jrod as well as bollock. Also another good game for Lambert in centre mid number 10 role and Cork as always. Panic at the end when the mentalists came on for the left sided players.

Bit of luck there, better team in the second half but a lot worse in the second.

The result though is massive, reinforcements needed as it looks like Gaston and Shaw have picked up knocks.

Another 3 players needed I reckon.

Fantastic win, Villa came back at us in the second half but we kept them out with some superb defending. This will quell the doubters who say we will go down, we have a fantastic chance to stay up. Soon enough we will start picking up more points against the big boys, like we did against Arsenal.

We could be more clinical at times and have had a few more shots, but this win puts us where we need to be. Away wins at Villa and QPR, massive.

Massive 3 points, and we are 15th :)

Prefer Davis to Boruc who was cr@p last game, but well done to him today.

Two great saves and a quality decision to come out to edge of box and claim ball.

We deserved that win today, despite the dodgy penalty.

Worried about Shaw's head injury though. Villa fans booing as he was stretchered off says it all about them.
