sambosa75 Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 And he isn't bitter at all? I think he was being ironic in light of recent comments about our support from friends of certain other posters on here. The lads were in fine voice today though. Great effort. ottery st mary Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 My Villa supporting mate has phoned me to say the best supporting away team at the Park since the last time we were there.. All I heard all game was OWTSGMI...... Brilliant...... Some out of tune,,but we can get Gareth Malone to sort that out.. 3 points:)
Sheaf Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 Sounded great on the stream I was watching. As opposed to the Villa fans who booed their team off at half time, booed them off at full time (despite them putting in a spirited late attempt to claw something back), and were even ungracious enough to boo when Shaw was being stretchered off - bunch of classless idiots. I expect it's the same fans who got all shirty when our home fans committed the heinous crime of failing to join in with their 19-minute clappy thing earlier in the season, despite not having a clue what it was all about. View From The Top Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 Yeah we were good... maybe something to do with the Villa stewards were pretty relaxed about us standing all game? We were in the front row of the upper tier. The stewards said that they'd enforce sitting for those of us in the first rows so if we wanted to stand to go back a bit. A very sensible position for them to take I thought.

Griffo Posted 13 January, 2013 Share Posted 13 January, 2013 Sorry but no, our support wasn't great at all. Spent most of the game singing on my own in the middle of the bottom tier. I was surrounded by a bunch of proper weirdos too.

Colinjb Posted 13 January, 2013 Share Posted 13 January, 2013 The Villa fans I chatted with on the way back were complimentary. I've never had that great an opinion of the Villa fans, but they were all really quite nice today, maybe a little humbled and chastened by recent experience. Enjoyed it from my seat in the bottom tier. My voice is raw from chanting 'yellows.....'

I was surrounded by a bunch of proper weirdos too. You post this every week! Why do you go to games? What do you think's going to happen if you buy one tkt at random and go on your own? Where do you sit at home games that's so much better? I wasn't there today but our support came over really good on the stream I watched; reaction on here fro those that were there is overwhelmingly positive. I really would advise you find something better to do with your time and money if you really don't enjoy it.

If you get clusters singing all the way through the game people join in. Atmosphere was great from my seat in Q1, Row L. Good bunch of lads singing and giving the awful Villa fans some stick. alehouseboys Posted 13 January, 2013 Share Posted 13 January, 2013 He could at least have worn some decent Trainers. He was mocking TCWTB so was going for the complete gimp look. As for OP, our support was OK, good numbers but for 3,000 probably not as "fantastic" as maybe it should have been. Good at times but having lost a number of chants from the promotion years now very limited. "Yellows, Yellows" and "OWTS" every 5 minutes is a bit lame and tbh, boring. And now we only seem to get the lazy slow rendition, OK when we're cruising but not particularly inspiring support for the players out on the pitch when we're still in a contest. Small rant but takes nothing away from a top result. Things are on the up.
