S-Clarke Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Just got in and put the stream on. No white kit then? Lets hope we can see this through. 15th would be sensational. I doubt we'll ever see the white kit again. Consigned to the ''Marketing disasters'' basket methinks.
Restark19 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I doubt we'll ever see the white kit again. Consigned to the ''Marketing disasters'' basket methinks. Can't say i'd be upset, love the yellow kit, not sure about the white
Viking Warrior Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 What is it with some fans on this forum , moan when we are not given penaltys and moan when we do . These things tend to even themselves out over a season
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 we really have to go on and win this...they have little quality
Restark19 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Also just seen Paul Merson struggle to pronounce Azplicueta on Soccer Saturday, classic :L
obelisk Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Happy to lead at half time but Villa are poor. Saints have a bit of problem in turning superior play into goals.
S-Clarke Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Good half by us, controlled around 75% of that. Goal shouldn't have been a goal, I'll be honest and say that. But we've deserved to be in this position on our first half control of the match. Once we started calming ourselves down, getting the ball on the floor, and working it in between and down the channels we saw the real villa defense. We've got to make it as hard as we can for that Villa back 4 in the 2nd half, because they will continue to wobble and crumble.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 we really have to go on and win this...they have little quality Agree, need a second goal and then boss it from there.
skintsaint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Gary Lineker has commented about it on Twitter! 5.32 & 9.00 tell me he wasn't falling early...
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 one thing is for sure...all this talk about lambert being moved on in the summer is tragic... he by a country mile, the best player on the pitch....by a country mile....looks like a £15m player was that his 9th league goal..?
Leicestersaint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I think we should be 2 or 3 up on the balance of play. Let's hope we can keep this going.
S-Clarke Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I've just seen another replay, and I'm pretty sure Rodriguez says ''He didn't foul me'' after the whistle was blown...
Katalinic Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 The game is there for the taking - Villa are poor - one more goal and I just can't see them getting back into it. The only chances they are getting is when we are inexplicably panicking.
Restark19 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 What is it with some fans on this forum , moan when we are not given penaltys and moan when we do . These things tend to even themselves out over a season It's true. The fact is that diving is a real problem, it's cheating plain and simple. don't you agree it would be much better to stamp it out than just hope it evens itself out
Suhari Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Can see why Villa are struggling - they have even less leadership and defensive organisation than us. Did play a few nice triangles in the last few minutes of the half though. We're pretty direct, but seem to be playing below par. Seems like there is another gear for us to kick into. Need to keep exploiting the wide areas, that's where we're getting best results. Clear dive for the penalty.
eurosaint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Does anybody think we should gift them a goal to make up for the 'dive' ? Nah, me neither !
MOSaint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 On top most of that half, need to keep it up 2nd half and not flush more points down the ****ter. Rodriguez is a shoe in for next year's Falon D'floor after that penalty winning performance.
Sheaf Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I don't think he dived. It looked to me like he was just trying to withdraw his right foot from the tackle so he didn't get injured. Had he not done that, there definitely would have been contact and it would still have been a penalty. He also appeared to suggest to the ref that he wasn't fouled, so you can't say he deliberately tried to con the ref with a cynical dive.
Restark19 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 would be happy if scores stayed like this, Reading and Wigan losing
trousers Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I don't think he dived. It looked to me like he was just trying to withdraw his right foot from the tackle so he didn't get injured. Had he not done that, there definitely would have been contact and it would still have been a penalty. Agree. It wasn't a pre-meditated dive IMO

Had he not done that, there definitely would have been contact and it would still have been a penalty. Now that is the narrative I like.
pangy Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Table at half time... Champions league still a possibility?
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I don't think he dived. It looked to me like he was just trying to withdraw his right foot from the tackle so he didn't get injured. Had he not done that, there definitely would have been contact and it would still have been a penalty. ahh come on...he did..or it very much looks like it..no one bar a few saints fans (and himself) will say otherwise...it will no doubt be a major talking point should we win this game.... if benteke done that at the other end..we would be going utterly mental (rightly so)
MOSaint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Besides it's the defender's fault. Always running the risk of giving away a penalty if you slide in like that in the box
obelisk Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Looked to me like J-Rod moved his leg away from a poor lunge that might have caused him serious damage had he left it there and that caused him to topple over. Ref gave a pen. Didn't see it as a dive but more as a poor decision by ref. I could be biased though.
Barry Sanchez Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Not happy if it was a dive to be honest, all games should be reviewed and if diving is found by an independent committee then bans should follow, not an 1 or 2 game ban either, cheating is cheating, it would stop pretty quick after the first 10 game suspension.
badgerx16 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Does anybody think we should gift them a goal to make up for the 'dive' ? Nah, me neither ! In the last minute, once we're 4:0 up ? Nah, keep the clean sheet. As for the white kit, this is the first match I've watched wearing the white shirt I got for Crimbo, so if we keep this lead Im all in favour of it.
JackFrost Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 was that his 9th league goal..? Looking at my status I'm all too aware that it is
trousers Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I've just seen another replay, and I'm pretty sure Rodriguez says ''He didn't foul me'' after the whistle was blown... Yep, which reinforces my view that he wasn't looking for the penalty - he just went down through the momentum created by the near coming together. As Bexy said, he probably went down to avoid contact.
Saint Charlie Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Don't worry about the league table until the end of the game!
madruss Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 I don't think he dived. This is exactly what happened. By withdrawing his foot, he loses his balance and goes down. What's he supposed to do, let the tackle hit him when he can avoid it?

badgerx16 Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Don't worry about the league table until the end of the season! Edited - That's the only time it matters.
Barry Sanchez Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Perry Groves just now They (Norwich and Newcastle) are playing with so much fear its frightening...............
suewhistle Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Yeah, but 2% in the pound won't be much...
ToreSF Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Lambert's link up play is so poor today. Can't seem to pass to another yellow shirt! You're not watching the same game as me. Think Lambert has been brilliant as a link up player today.
Ohio Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 It's the new rules. If you hit the ground it was a dive.
Saints Fan Dan Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Looking at my status I'm all too aware that it is 3 away from 100!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Author Posted 12 January, 2013 Looking at my status I'm all too aware that it is skates r so dumb
S-Clarke Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Barry Bannan on for Villa, replacing their most experienced player. Sense?
Crab Lungs Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Not happy if it was a dive to be honest, all games should be reviewed and if diving is found by an independent committee then bans should follow, not an 1 or 2 game ban either, cheating is cheating, it would stop pretty quick after the first 10 game suspension. Just like your cheating Pompey team eh
Chewy Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 5.32 & 9.00 tell me he wasn't falling early... He wasn't failing early. To compare those with today's is bonkers.
Barry Sanchez Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Just like your cheating Pompey team eh Er no, you accept cheating?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Author Posted 12 January, 2013 Very good if anyone is looking >> http://socsportslive.com/?htrtrhthrth
S-Clarke Posted 12 January, 2013 Posted 12 January, 2013 Really poor by Puncheon there, great opening and he plays it flat along the ground with no pace.
