What would you do with the sandworks opposite St Marys?

How about a Saints Museum with grill/cafe. It would celebrate our 150 years as a football club with old pictures, memorabilia (old boots, laced balls, etc), features on famous games, and so on. The club could maybe direct a small percentage of the profits into purchasing old medals, shirts, etc from auctions.

I know some users on here would say "but we have'nt won that much". That's why its focus would be on our history, our famous players, our grounds, our fans, etc - not a "giant trophy cabinet showoff centre" like they have at Old Trafford

What do you reckon?

it will be a hotel which can host conferences and events and be used for corporate hospitality on match days - and probably a bunch of bars, restaurants and stuff like that.

I reckon I could put my hands on enough stuff to make a worthwhile museum.

Irrelevant question. With the Ford factory closing in 6 months time, Nicolas plan to site the new Dell at Stoneham will see us in a new 50,000 seater home with fantastic facilities and easy transport links. Plus a monkey petting zoo. ;-)

Excited :)

A complex with pubs and restaurants alongside a 12-15k seater stadium WITH ROOF that provides a better venue for U21s and U18's to get "stadium" exposure as opposed to Staplewood. Designed well it could have multiple uses such as:

Venue for touring comedians, music performers.

Boxing contests;

A womans SFC

Conferences, exhibitions

Speedway

Greyhound racing

The list could go on. Of course there are cost implications but this is hypothetical world....

This is a great idea in my opinion - a proper multi-purpose complex and something Southampton doesn't have!

How big do you think the site is? Not big enough for any of the above (except possibly a Saints museum - and lets face it, any property developer that gets their hands on a waterside bit of land in Southampton ain't building no museum on it!!
