Fitzhugh Fella Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 from Sparsholt College Football Academy. Nehemie was released by Palace last summer but following his enrolment at Sparsholt he caught the eye of Saints and has signed a full-time scholarship arrangement up to 2014. He is a left-sided player.
Saint Charlie Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Hopefully he with thrive in the developmental culture we have here at Southampton.
dinger Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Hmm... something about cultivated play... something about being a workhorse... something about agricultural challenges... any more?
The Kraken Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 He sounds young, hungry, and is bound to improve.
Saint Charlie Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 (edited) He sounds young, hungry, and is bound to improve. He has a young skeletal body though, we need to nuture him at the club, with the excellent medical and coaching staff, plus the recruitment department lead by Paul Mitchell. Turkish Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 He sounds young, hungry, and is bound to improve. the 3 core qualities of every young player we sign.
Turkish Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 He has a young skeletal body though, he need to nuture him at the club, with the excellent medical and coaching staff, plus the recruitment department lead by Paul Mitchell. All overseen by Les Reed who once wrote the FA coaching manual dontcha know. If there is anyone who can nuture him and enable this young, hungry player who is guarenteed to improve, its him.

With Hunter as well we do have a well respected coaching setup, plus some ex Saints in Dodd and Williams which is good to see.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 10 January, 2013 Author Posted 10 January, 2013 There is a photo in the Echo of him signing which includes Neil Benson who is the manager of Sparsholt Football Academy. Says Neil was once in Saints academy. Apparently Isaac has already trained with the club and been a guest at a couple of games.

Pretty sure he has also played some U18 games already - I have seen him name in the reports.
anothersaintinsouthsea Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Doubt Adkins knew much about this. Cortese out! In fact...... Everyone out!

Fitzhugh Fella Posted 10 January, 2013 Author Posted 10 January, 2013 Neil Benson is a ****ing pratt. You don't like him? His name is familiar but can't think why - certainly don't remember him being on Saints books?
Monk Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 You don't like him? His name is familiar but can't think why - certainly don't remember him being on Saints books? Ive done a few courses with him. He was involved with Saints during the Clifford/Prost era's. Coaching wise you think 'wow thats fantastic' then he'll rumble a load of ******** after.
Colbury Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Not good enough for Palace not good enough for Saints.
Turkish Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 at least people will stop whining we haven't signed anyone in the transfer window now.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Pretty sure he has also played some U18 games already - I have seen him name in the reports. He has indeed - Matt Targett getting a run of games for the u21's gave Nehemie a chance to start several U18 games. I saw him first hand in Manchester at the Trafford Training Centre and he didn't look out of place. Has a long way to go but with Shaw now a staple of the first team and Targett taking his opportunity for the u21's this is a good opportunity for Nehemie.

niceandfriendly Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 a midfield of Nehemie - Cork - Morgan - Ramirez for Saturday?
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 10 January, 2013 Author Posted 10 January, 2013 Not good enough for Palace not good enough for Saints. Let's give him a chance, bloody hell plenty of people turn into world beaters after initial rejection
Saint Stimp Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Not good enough for Palace not good enough for Saints. Absolutely hilarious that you'd dismiss a 17 year old using that logic. You've shown yourself up a treat.
iansums Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Absolutely hilarious that you'd dismiss a 17 year old using that logic. You've shown yourself up a treat. Exactly. Think about Stuart Pearce and Ian Wright to name just two.
scotty Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Neil Benson is a ****ing pratt. This is the type of post I like. Straightforward, clear, no room for misunderstanding. We should have more like this.

adrian lord Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Let's give him a chance, bloody hell plenty of people turn into world beaters after initial rejection I'd still like to know Palace's reasons though - temperament maybe?
sotonist Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 has signed a full-time scholarship arrangement up to 2014. The Binding of Isaac.
mulletsaint Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 This sort of thing happens all the time. One academy sees something in a player another doesn't. Beckham couldn't get beyond Spurs' centre of excellence but Man U snapped him up.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 If hes any good chuck him in at Villa this weekend
Miltonroader07 Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Can he play CB... FFS lets prioritise Nige
RonManager Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Well if he's come from Sparsholt then he'll at least know a good furrow when he ploughs one.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Not good enough for Palace not good enough for Saints. Errrr Alan Shearer was passed over by Newcastle in a trial before signing up for Saints! Choosing young talent is never easy as development occurs at different ages and at different speeds!
Paul Chuckle Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Know the scout who spotted him and recommended him to the club. He was released by Palace as they have an England School boy in same position and didn't want to block his path. He will slot in to the position left by Luke Shaw stepping up to first team squad.
Sour Mash Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Know the scout who spotted him and recommended him to the club. He was released by Palace as they have an England School boy in same position and didn't want to block his path. He will slot in to the position left by Luke Shaw stepping up to first team squad. Unlikely, as there's already someone else in that position.
Paul Chuckle Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Unlikely, as there's already someone else in that position. Can't have 2 left backs then? Lets just wait and see
Smirking_Saint Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Can't have 2 left backs then? Lets just wait and see Fwiw Targett is said to be as good as Shaw at least. On another note, can we have some variety ? Right back ? Striker ? Bloody goalie ?!?!?
Sour Mash Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Can't have 2 left backs then? Lets just wait and see Sorry, was just correcting you on your suggestion that he was slotting into a vacant position.
Badger Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Didn't his grandfather once manage us ? Lawrie Mac Nehemie ? Would rather we signed Niemi. Yes, indeed.
Lazlo78 Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 The 17 yr old, 2 months younger than Shaw is seen as the long term successor of Shaw Lol That's just crazy - rather goes against the idea of having a successor when he is only two months younger. When Shaw retires at age 37, the 36-but-37-in-two-months Targett will finally get his time in the sun after waiting patiently for 20 years
DT Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Hmm... something about cultivated play... something about being a workhorse... something about agricultural challenges... any more? Will he end up with the tractor boys?

Doctoroncall Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Fwiw Targett is said to be as good as Shaw at least. On another note, can we have some variety ? Right back ? Striker ? Bloody goalie ?!?!? Yep. We have to start sourcing other positions to get to to the 50% academy to first team mark! Sent from my bonfire using smoke signals.
Gemmel Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 Neil Benson is a ****ing pratt. +1... Total arse
Jones91 Posted 11 January, 2013 Posted 11 January, 2013 Can he not just replace Fox, also whats happened to Ben Reeves development?
