Turkish Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Thats just rediculous, he had a slow start but most of us saw a decent defender in there, and now he has got used the league he looks a great little player. Thats the second time youve refered to him as being "little" yet Wiki says he is 6 ft 2. Is this a racial sterotype?

Smirking_Saint Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 what a f*cking mess, what's it to do with him . I dont think he has a big voice in things, but then I wasnt 100% that Reed was on the committee so I may be wrong. As a semi-informed guess though Id assumd it was continuity related. Barry Sanchez Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Hunter is in there aswell, I know that much, not seen anything written down but yes, Reed being there is a worry, but then how much top flight exp has Adkins got ? As a semi-informed guess though Id assumd it was continuity related. Being on the Comitee doesn't mean they are identifying targets. Also perhaps they say people have is weighted on what kind of player it is. Whether they are first team, or a youth prospect? There are a lot of factors to consider in buying a player, but obviously if someone is on the committee then it means they are signing players! So now with this buying commitee we have a fellow who is an accountant, a person so hated by the Charlton fans that they talk of him now with a grimmace and Happy go Lucky Nige, Christ walking into that meeting would scare the **** out of an experienced agent............... Turkish Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 I'd like to see a proper experienced man brought in in a DOF role. Someone who understands English football and someone who knows the Premier league. Someone with a bit of clout and would be a big draw for players. Someone like Ron Atkinson, Don Howe or David Pleat would be ideal.
Barry Sanchez Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Ron Atkinson would be a blast, easy transition period as Nige and Big Ron are both orange so no need to move beds into the City.........................
Dig Dig Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Graham Taylor as DOF and head of transfer committee would be my choice with Gareth Southgate in the dug out. He's kept a side in the prem before so that means he's definitely a better manager than Adkins and I'm sure Taylors international pedrigree would see our networking options blossom. I'd expect us to be snapping up experienced premier league players like Jonathan Woodgate to fill the void Fonte has left.

ART Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 I really think that Nicola must bring a guy like Di Matteo in to advise him on football matters in a capacity to replace Reid, If we miss this opportunity I think we will live to regret it big time. I thought we are moving forward. Certainly doesn't look like it from where I am. Often it helps to be in a situation to view things from a distant. sotonjoe Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Those who think his job is secure are deluded. We're in a poor run of form which has done just enough to delay his sacking. So far.
supersonic Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 1 win in 8 and still hasn't fixed our achilles heels: not holding onto leads and poor tactics. Defeats to Villa & Chelsea and I think NA will be gone

Badger Posted 10 January, 2013 Share Posted 10 January, 2013 Gross no thanks, Di Matteo yes please!! No doubt NC will be hoping that Di Matteo can bring the best out of - ie form a pact with them to run the ship for a while - the older players in our squad , such as Drogba, Terry etc , and we'll be successful for a few months before the wheel comes off again next season. Slight flaw in that strategy though. Just hope Nicola spots it.

John B Posted 11 January, 2013 Share Posted 11 January, 2013 It's the Daily Mail, which are about as accurate when it comes to reporting as Guly is when it comes to shooting. They thrive off poor journalism and make-believe sources. Awful paper, that is just the sport. Don't get me started on the "news" side of it. Clearly Adkins is staying. I think it is very good that Cortese is monitoring the situation with Adkins who is not very experienced at PL Level He obviously is not in the I trust Nigel brigade but in the sensible I will see how he performs brigade. Are we sure Di Matteo is any good as I agree with Harry it should not be difficult to suceed at chelsea

As a manager where he got 7 whole games, but then he's not our manager. He's also been an England coach and England technical director as well as working at virtual all levels within the England coaching set up. But of course he was crap for 7 games with a crap team so he must be rubbish

OldNick Posted 11 January, 2013 Share Posted 11 January, 2013 Reading some of these posts got me thinking this thread should be on the Muppet show. Graham Taylor FFS, Atkinson etc Lol Les Reed etc have had to pull our rotten old club into the 21st century. Right from the bottom to the top. Football fans live in the past regarding managers etc. The expectation of fans that from administration get the club competing in 3 years in the top league is farcical. Big Ron is very culturally aware, and referred to Remi Moses, Cyrille Regis, and Laurie Cunningham when at WBA as his 'Three Degrees' so he may modernise and use the affectionate term 'Destiny's Child' when he takes over from Fat Les at Saints. Not many people realise that Ron, as well as being an expert on football tactics, also has great knowledge of Iranian wine, gold bullion, and knots. He would give Nige an edge...
