Colinjb Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 I wonder what our bid was. Bologna paid a €2.5 mill co ownership fee. I doubt it was pennies.
tajjuk Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Sounds more like one for the future than one for now. 20 years old, only 30 appearances to his name and been at Bologna for a year and only played 13 times. Probably just some scouts have been looking at him and the media have extrapolated it from there in line with other rumours and us singing Ramirez from Bologna. dronskisaint Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 So because I am perceived as negative I am not a Saints fan? Negativity/Realism is the other side of Positivity/Delusion. So skate...it's not possible in your murky dank world to be positive and realistic? In your foul-smelling P*mpey world I would accept that negativity and realism go hand in hand but that's not where we are. Happy to help... KelvinsRightGlove Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Dave has been busy over in Kansas City signing a young Honduras winger, 19 years old and not even a full international. I'm sure you'd like us to be signing players like this instead, yes? Wigan have signed shed loads of players from South America, and DW isn't even from there! Golden Balls Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Sounds like a decent prospect but not sure it's the answer we're after. Saint Charlie Posted 9 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Probably an offer to try and push along the astori deal Seems like a different option to me rather than a straight alternative. trousers Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 (edited) What is it about Italian football and selling/buying percentages of a player? Here's another one... AC Milan News @Milanello Empoli's SD: "If it's true that Milan have signed 50% of @rickysaponara for €4m? Yes, those are the figures." #BenvenutoSaponara AC Milan News @Milanello Empoli's SD: "We have an agreement with Parma, so we'll sell the other 50% of Saponara to Parma at the end of the season." The9 Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 According to Wikipedia he is co-owned. We've been down that road before. It wasn't the co-ownership that took time with Ramirez, it was the fact Bologna wanted an unusual payment plan.

pingwing Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 It wasn't the co-ownership that took time with Ramirez, it was the fact Bologna wanted an unusual payment plan. They wanted all the money now (because they have none) and 30% of Gaston was owned by the Uruguayan club he came from. We had to make a deal with them for the last bit (a sell on clause I seem to remember was the solution) and sort out the payment plan.

Barry Sanchez Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 Co-ownership? Like one player signing for one team and then playing for another? Guly isn't our best player, but he is far from our worst. He is ok. He was good in L1 and decent in the Championship. I wouldnt have him in our starting XI when everyone is fit but he is an ok option to have. For little cost he has given 3 years good service so I say he has overall been a good signing. If you don't agree I don't mind.

NickG Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 who...? how about going for dawson or huth or some other player who could come in with an immediate positive impact We have made impressive offers for both, offered good terms but they don't want to drop down to us. OK, made that up but we just don't know what has happened over last few weeks. Dawson is spurs club capt, first game of 2013 capt of team and scored. Two months ago mail said we had approached with £7.5m offer. Has he turned us down? Huth signed new 3 year contract this season, has been ever present for team in 10th who have let in 8 less goals than Man U. Both are likely to be on high money already. Great options, but wonder if overseas market is more realistic, unless lower sights in England??

david in sweden Posted 9 January, 2013 Share Posted 9 January, 2013 This defender is an interesting one, does it mean that Astori has fallen through? I' ve seen quite enough "memorable 'Guly" thank you very much. Guly making simple passes to the opposition. Guly missing yet another sitter. Guly scoring a spectacular own goal under no pressure Guly unable to trap the ball Guly refusing to tackle Guly jogging around He is perhaps not our worst player by a mile, but he's a strong contender for the title. Absolutely mental!! I really struggle to understand this Guly witch hunt, I often here things like this from t.w.a.t.s down the pub who no nothing about football but like to join in on football chat so they jump on the "Guly is the worst player to wear the shirt" bandwagon. The truth of the matter is that he has and still continues to do a solid job for us. Whenever you here people say "he doesn't work or pass to his own team" if they took the time to look at the match stats without making clueless assumptions free from any fact they would see than he is constantly in the top 5 players with regards to pass completion and area covered. Should he have scored against stoke? Probably yes!! But where are all the threads criticising JRod for missing the 1-1 with the keeper and hitting Huth when he had the goal gaping on another occasion? If Rickie or Lallana hit a pass short no one says a word but if Guly does the same the predictable co cks jump on him and demand he is hung, drawn and quartered, his confidence must be shot!
