Bradford V Villa

How long before Villa replace Lambert with Adkins...? (Said Trousers whilst starting to count chickens)

What's worrying is that there's every possibility. This is why I'm torn. It would be hilarious for them to lose to Bradford, but getting to the Final is much more likely to perpetuate their crapness for longer.

Don't know if I'd want them to go down if Adkins joined them. Obviously if it's between us and them then them, but would want them to stay up if he went there I think

I dont think even he could save them to be honest, they are a shambles at the back.

Yeah but it would take a serious run on our part for that to come down to anything other than the last couple of matches before you'd be able to root for Adkins in that scenario anyway, for all the time we were still in the mix you'd have to assume they'd be a threat to us. The other scenario of them being done for and not able to catch us wouldn't leave much room for support until next season anyway.

Just brought Vlaar back and he seems to have caught whatever they have going round in their defence, because he used to be half decent.

FWIW I said earlier that I'd bet the house on Villa winning tonight but not necessarily on aggregate, that's what usually happens, but they don't even seem able to do that.

Well done Bradford

Have to say if Lambert isn't sacked after that they are gone this year. The loss isn't what matters it is the fact they played with zero tactics, no formation and no desire. Poor poor manager.

You have to wonder what has happened to the guy who was in charge at Norwich when they went up back-to-back.

It is surprising, i thought he'd do pretty good there.

Likewise. But equally, I did see his move as a sideways step. Norwich are on the up, Villa are struggling, either of them have the potential to achieve decent things or drop out of the Prem entirely.

Seriously and being serious for a minute. This is what p*sses me off about us playing an understrength side in this compeition. This is proof if any where needed that ANYONE can get to the final of this competition if they take it seriously and get a bit of luck. Who wouldn't want to be in Bradfords position tonight with 6,500 fans celebrating getting to a major Wembley final.

I think the difference is he was at Norwich when there was little pressure on him to get results in league one. He had time and money to build a team designed to get to the PL. Sort of like how Adkins was.

In the lower leagues if you have a bad run of games you can make it up as the teams are all very similar in quality. So starting there is going to be more forgiving then starting in the PL with a team from scratch.

That is when you find out how good a manager really is when they move to a new team.

Absolutely agree. Plus, think how terrible Villa are feeling right now. A loss is a loss and nobody wants bad press and attention like Villa will now get.

Yep. Our performance at Leeds was a disgrace, and the line up was an insult to the 500 or so of us that had travelled up there.

I don't normally watch the League Cup final, but if it's Swansea vs Bradford I'd be very tempted. Swansea winning tomorrow would be the icing on the cake - and they're not the sort of team to let a 2 goal lead slip - even if it is against Chelsea. (Whom haven't be in top form for a while now...)

Bradford manager is Phil Parkinson..

.......a Saints youth player (in Dave Merrington's time as coach) . in the mid 1980's played 60+ reserve games, but who never got to make a first team app. and moved onto lower league football is now managing a Cup Final side.....talk about fairy tales. Said in an interview in first leg that his team cost ...less than £10,000 in transfer fees.

I wonder what their salaries are ...compared to Villa players ?

Their team cost less than most Villa players will earn in a week.

Anyone else think of Crouch, when that lad ran to the corner, gave the ball away and villa scored

Difference was the Bradford player was TRYING to timewaste, Crouch just gave Everton the ball back instead of trying to do that.
