JoeShmoe Posted 6 January, 2013 Share Posted 6 January, 2013 I'd really like us to get another centre midfielder, think we really need quality in there Is Lucas Biglia still available, he was superb when we played Anderlecht in pre season. And spurs are touting Huddlestone for 3m
Matthew Le God Posted 6 January, 2013 Share Posted 6 January, 2013 (edited) I'd really like us to get another centre midfielder, think we really need quality in there Is Lucas Biglia still available, he was superb when we played Anderlecht in pre season. And spurs are touting Huddlestone for 3m I think that will be quite low down the priority list with Cork and Schneiderlin performing well, with Davis as back up and wanting a pathway for Ward-Prowse. ottery st mary Posted 6 January, 2013 Share Posted 6 January, 2013 Huddlestone is very good.. But VERY injury prone. Missing a lot of games?........albeit...Sandro and Dembele are top class for Spurs. Parker coming back from injury and Carroll breaking through...He has slipped down the order whilst out again recently.. SO....medical record research or we get another Charlie George. Groves, Ripley etc DUFFERS.

saintbob40 Posted 8 January, 2013 Share Posted 8 January, 2013 Huddlestone always look like he eats too much and/or is in the gym to often. Big and cumbersome and, more importantly, injury prone. So that's a no from me. That said, I do not see either Davis or JWP as deep lying defensive midfielders. They like to get beyond the ball, hence the problems v Chelsea where the defence was constantly exposed when we got caught in possession/ on the break. We do therefore need another technically and defensively minded DM as back up.
tajjuk Posted 8 January, 2013 Share Posted 8 January, 2013 Would like to see us go for a big powerful DM, like Mulumbu or Diame mould.
DT Posted 8 January, 2013 Share Posted 8 January, 2013 I know he's a former Skate but frankly I don't care. I think Papa Boupa Diop at Birmingham could do us a job in terms of breaking up play and getting stuck in. Might be a realistically inexpensive option. No doubt this will provoke outrage from people who want us to sign Messi instead.
norwaysaint Posted 8 January, 2013 Share Posted 8 January, 2013 I would be amazed if we bought a CM in this window. I'd guess it's an area NA thinks we've got sorted (Cork, Morgan, Davis and JWP all seem to be rated). If we're actively searching for players, I'd imagine we'd be looking at wingers and defenders. We still have nobody natural on the left wing and we can't keep sticking players out there, Shaw needs a decent, left-footed partner soon.
