Dalek2003 Posted 7 January, 2013 Share Posted 7 January, 2013 Yep. I found that comment bizarre. Its a dog-eat-dog world. Look at what might have happened with Buttner's transfer to us. But some of our fans love to take the moral high ground, whatever the consequences to the club. You only have to lok back to the failure to appoint Hoddle in 2004 to see that ! Dalek2003 Posted 7 January, 2013 Share Posted 7 January, 2013 I don't think you will find brinkmanship with clubs such as Chelsea, Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham.... Could it be because they are posituve about signing quality players that they are competing at the top of the Prem, which is where we were told we intended to compete. If all SFC are going to do is to try to finish above the bottom 3, maybe we'd be better off in the Championship where fans might see us winning games regularly. Adkins made it clear he wanted two CBs for the Prem and eventually he was allowed one, but only after several games had been played and points lost. If we are going back to where we were in the 1990s and early 2000s, flirting with relegation most seasons until it happened all the effort of the last two years will have been wasted. . Kind of like a 'yoyo' club ? Well guess what....
Edmonton Saint Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 So its Saturday and surprise, surprise we haven't signed a centre half. Lose against Villa today and this lack of dynamic action will be totally unacceptable. The Transfer window is now 12 days old and the relegation timebomb is ticking ever closer... Liverpool are competing at the top of the Premiership? When did that happen? I must have misread the tables. If it weren't for Suarez's goals, they would be considerably worse off and he has been with them for some time now.

Dalek2003 Posted 12 January, 2013 Share Posted 12 January, 2013 If I could be bothered I could bring up the league table and show the run of league results whilst Hoddle was in charge of Saints.
