Vultures and crows

"Shaw has been consistently impressive in the Premier League this season, and boss Nigel Adkins felt compelled to warn off potential suitors before he again caught the eye in Tuesday’s goalless draw with the Gunners"

Well if they can't even get simple facts like getting the score right then I doubt they are even correct with their story.....

Ha ha I love the fact we have so much great young talent at the club.

It would be amazing if we could stay in the premiership and then bring in these super kids and enjoy them without having to worry about the big guns.

I also love the fact that Cortese has a vision and he will not let any young player leave unless it was stupid money.

The club have a simple setup.

Keep the best young players.

Pass like Barca.

Give youth a chance.

Improve the training ground.

Play the same system from the under 8's to the first team.

our academy is the envy of the biggest clubs.

No sooner any of our lads show signs of being any good the vultures start circling..

Luke Shaw their latest ??

OH NO.. it seems his potential replacement is also causing them to slobber in anticipation..

Worry about it if/when it happens I remember Jamie White being linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid at a similar age!

An interesting one, and one that highlights a potential loophole in the EPPP. It seems ludicrous (*if* the supposition is accurate - a very big if) that despite having a Cat One academy, we could have an academy player taken away from us at a fixed fee without our consent, potentially by a club with a lower rated academy, when the whole point of EPPP is to ensure young players spend as much time as possible at the highest rated clubs.

I would assume that provision is in place (or if not already, will be hastily implemented) within the EPPP to say that this rule only applies to 'buying' clubs with a higher rated academy than the 'selling' club. Otherwise the incentive to get to Cat One is completely undermined.

So we drew 0-0 with the Gunners then on Tuesday, if they can't report the correct score from our lasy game I would be inclined to take no notice of this.
WHy? The score is an obvious error, but you'd have to admit it would be a pretty pointless story to just make up?

Given that Bale has successfully converted to a more forward position, I would reckon there is room for both Shaw and Taggart in a future Saints team, overlapping on the left. I remember David Jones started Wayne Bridge in left midfield before left back because he wanted him to understand what sort of ball a player wants to receive in that position.

Taggart? What about Targett - would we have room for him as well?

Not sure he's blond enough to be a good prospect :D

When you look at the description page on the OS about the first year scholars, whoever wrote it Targett seems to be one of the least rated from the bunch.

We should probably be more worried about clubs pinching the scouts that seem to find all these players.
