decent signing for the Hammers, will suit their style of football.

Arsenals tip tappy stuff doesn't suit him - same with Giroud (who is not doing too well), both players suit lots of balls crossed into the box etc something which Arsenal rarely do.

Depending on the price could be a good signing for the hammers.

BBC have annoyed me on this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20905628

Since when has prolific been redefined as "scoring 79 goals in 293 appearances for Bordeaux"... Less than 1 goal in 3 appearances is a. not prolific, b. pretty poor considering it was France and c. great news for West Ham as they can have someone else a bit useless up front.

I stand by he's rubbish and will be on a comical wage when they end up in trouble fairly soon with Joe Cole mucking the show up too.

have to agree. only hit double figures in a season 3 times for Bordeaux. overall ratio appalling. 1 game last season for Arsenal. Hammers already have a big wage bill, soon it will rival QPR's!

Chamakh is good in the air, or he used to be anyway, might suit West Ham. Arsenal play on the deck most of the time, that's why Giroud is only a sub often enough. Wenger has an obseession with French strikers though always buys up the Ligue 1 leading scorer, Gervihno,Chamakh, Giroud but to be fair with the French contract scheme the way it is and the taxes to boot the prices are reasonably low, Chamakh was on a free. French domestic football isn't of a particularly high standard nowadays simply because of outlandish taxation and the gulf between Ligue 1 and the EPL is enormous.

Gold, Sullivan and Brady really are complete f**ktards aren't they?

Seriously, they're w**king their money on strikers, if they got found out in the 2nd half of the season, which they might, I get the feeling that they might potentially be in a little bit of trouble

Giroud has 6 in 19 so far for Arsenal, not great but ok. Chamakh has 8 in 40.

Girouds career record is also better.

Poor signing for West Ham, hope he's on big wages too.

Chamakh and Cole is a pretty awful window for the Hammers so far.

With Jarvis ad Vaz Te getting crosses in Chamakh may well come good. Arsenal's style of play isn't for everyone.

Vaz te is massively overated and can't cross.

Plus Chamakh's no way as good in the air as Carroll and he has 1 in 12.

I suppose seeing as they have 2 in 18 Cole, you might as well have lots of strikers that don't score goals.

I bet for the money they could tempt Holt away from Norwich, he'd suit them well and score goals, makes the most out his limited talent.

OK you don't rate Chamakh and you hate West Ham, it's not a problem. I think he may do well for them but then I'm basing that on what he did at Bordeaux.

I can see why they would want him if he were to recapture the form which took him to the EPL, is he not off to the ACON with Morocco though ? Atleast I thought he was Moroccon anyway ?

I have a feeling that WHU and Liverpool know more about Carroll and his injuries then is being let on TBH

I don't hate West Ham, but even on what he did for Bordeaux he's an average signing, with his performances at Arsenal he's a poor signing in my book. Like I said Carroll is probably the biggest aerial threat in the league and West Ham played to that strength and he has managed 1 goal, can't see how the smaller and worse Chamakh will do any better. Seems a 'quantity not quality' type attitude to me.

No Chamakh and Taraabt were not called up, loads of home based and French players in the Morooco squad. Probably a money thing or insurance thing.. If ever Chamakh were to find his Bordeaux form again he'd be a top man for a side that plays Route 1 or 2. A 6 month loan isn't bad for finding out.

Jack Sullivan ‏@jsullivanwhu

I am very sorry about this news Chamakh has sign a 6 month loan deal! not my pick :(

LOL @ that tweet!

Funny that its John Sullivan...

Thread title had me worried for a minute. Never been impressed with Chamakh for Arsenal and I don't know any Arsenal fans that rate him but I can see him doing better with West Ham.

They have signed cole though and regardless they are light years ahead of us unfortunately in making the step up to the premiership

We both made the step up to the premiership at the same time (could say we took that step before them) but whether we both have the guile to stay there is another matter.

west ham are eleventh in the table so bar a disasterous run I think it's fair to assume they will be staying up

There always seems to be a team with a solid start who seem to fall to pieces after Xmas.

On current form that could be Fulham, but equally it could be WHU
