Are we bad at January Transfers?

Adding the loan signings would have given a bigger picture - where are the likes of Henri Camara and Peter Madsen ?

Soccerbase seems rather lacking in that information... as does the article as a result.

Few typos in there too : Olivier Bernard, Dany N'Guessan, John Otsemobor, and a couple of dodgy apostrophes for plurals.

The spellings I have no excuse for. Shoddy.

Point taken on the loan signings, I couldn't find details of all of them, and missed Jos....

Guly?

Originally signed in the summer on loan, so wasn't sure it should count. Plus people would have argued if it were a good singing or not! ;)

I don't think the signings were that bad. Higgy and Prutts weren't bad in their day, not world beaters but not bad either. Barnard, Fonte and Puncheon were excellent edditions, who'd have thought then they'd go on to be Premier League regulars with us. Even players like Otsemobor and Brennan did a job at the time in possitions we were completely lacking in quality. Even Ostlund wasn't bad, certainly better than Wright on the rare occasions he actually played. Unfortunately he ended up like Skacel and De Ridder. He developed a cult following, which instantly generated an opposing anti fan club. As a result all discussion about him ended up badly polarised.

What are you on about? We signed the "world class" Ryan Smith and Jonno Quick and his much fabled lightening pace and incredible strength.

You've just said the same on the Butland thread. Even though it's a new year you still appear as boring and tiresome as ever Walter.

Chaplow shouldn't count then as we signed him in September on loan.

Not too bad last few seasons to be fair. We had a more than good enough squad when we was in L1 just needed a couple of additions, and in the NPC last season we were tearing teams apart and didn't really need much....

But people on here still moaned!

It still makes for an interesting article based on permanent signings, though some of the worst were loans too. :)

Are we already moaning about the business we haven't done in the window which is less than 72 hours old?

Yes, and rightly so. The squads deficiencies have been there for all to see for 3 months. Including our management. Seeing as we actually do have games during the transfer window, leaving reinforcement to avoid relegation to the end of the window when 3 or 4 more games have gone, considering the obivous weaknesses of the squad for so long, is plain f**king bizarre.

And as Sid says, we are crap at playing the transfer market. Period.
