Hoskins Out On Loan

Did really well against them in the League Cup as a sub. I'm not sure how letting someone who isn't in the first team matchday squad somehow makes a slot available though ? Also, he's not named in our Prem squad list as he's not old enough, so that's not a consideration either. Now if we were shifting Forte or Dickson on, they're both additional spaces.

I don't think they need any help. 10 point deduction will see to that anyway, and the way things are going won't actualy have any impact (again).

No guarantee they'll get the deduction at all this season, they only have to come out of admin before the start of next season. And the FL will happily carry it over if it has no impact anyway.

Good for him! Hopefully he gets some game time with them as he gave the impression against them in the league cup that's all he really needed to get on a roll.

Leaves the U21s a bit light for when they start the elite section games. He is our top scorer in what has become this year a decent competition. Is he better off playing against L1 opposition or Premier League fringe players, not sure any more.

It'll give game time for the likes of lee though, and give chances for other youngsters like Sinclair that have been in Hoskins shadows. The conveyer belt has to keep rolling etc.

Difficult to judge, people who aren't good enough for their Prem first teams at the moment, or people who just aren't good enough for the Prem ?

You'd have to think that League One is at least inarguably competitive, whilst that hasn't been guaranteed in previous reserve leagues.

Also Ryan Seager has been knocking them in for U18s. Might give him some good game time?

That's the other lad I was thinking of. league 1 loans seem to be the progression from u21 games so the likes of Seager move up to the u21 team giving another lad a chance in the u18. The academy and development system is so good that I'm sure that no loan move would be sanctioned without looking at the impact down the chain.

Someone else will come in. Sinclair, Seager or possibly Barnard as an overage player if we can't shift him. Good luck to Hoskins at Stevenage.

After seeing his brilliant movement and dummy at Stevenage before sliding a shot just past the post then I am not surprised. He was only on the pitch 5 minutes but made an instant impact.

This is a good move for him and Stevenage and I hope he gets plenty of game time and scores a few goals. I have high hopes for him and it is about time we produced another decent striker.

I should be glad to see the lad get some game time in a first team, but for some reason I feel a little sad to see him go. He seems to be our brightest young attacking threat and I hope to see him in our own first team before long. Maybe SRL can help tutor him in a year or two and turn him into the next big thing.

Getting games in real matches (not U21 in front of 50 people) is vital for players like this. It is only a good thing.
