Saint Charlie Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 Controversially I would actually give the guy a couple of training sessions to see how he does and let him settle. Fonte and Yoshida are doing well at the moment so no rush, but IMO Fonte is the better of the two.
Saint_clark Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 No-one right away. New defenders replaces Hooiveld on the bench, give them a chance to settle in and learn our style of play and then if/when someone's form drops in the first team the new player will get a chance. If it's a question of who is playing better right at this moment...I'd have to say Yoshida.
hypochondriac Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 It's not about that. When one makes a mistake bring the other one in and see if they can make the position their own. Like Shaw has done.
corky morris Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 Initially neither, but it would be Fonte for me. He has mproved no end since the start of the season, but i think Yoshida is a better defender. Its a goalkeeper & a winger with pace we need!!
SNSUN Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 Neither to begin with, even if we sign a central defender with a reputation that makes us all go "wow". Yoshida and Fonte have done very little wrong of late, so keep them in until such a time as one dips in form.
david in sweden Posted 2 January, 2013 Posted 2 January, 2013 Who would you replace...Fonte or Yoshida? NEITHER.....you play the in-form players until /unless there are suspensions or injuries......or loss of form. He should learn to sit on the bench until his time comes..(like everyone else).
