IOWSaintDaz Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 In the warm up today Kelvin Davis booted 3 or more balls purposely into the family stand area in the Kingsland/Chapel Corner. After this had happened he looked really fed up and looked uninterested while the squad did shooting practice against him. Does anyone know why this is? as I couldn't really see any reason for him to do this as there were no people having a go at him or anything like that, and this is a bit out of character for Kelvin to say the least. Could it be because he has been told of Butlands imminent arrival and the fact he was dropped today signals the end of his time at Saints?

Give it to Ron Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 Goalkeepers are paid to save shots and stop crosses - Kelvin has failed to do that recently so he can't say he has been harshly treated.

So given Boruc's display then in the first 10 mins it will be Gazza in goal for the next game. Boruc was crap today, dropped 2 easy balls in the first couple of minutes, his kicking was woefull and he was at fault for the Arsenal goal. GET RID. Its another symptom of our crap summer transfer policy - we needed to sign a quality experienced Prem goalie then and even more so now. We would of been comfortably mid table by now

sammysaint Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 For me Boruc should be number 1 for the rest of the season now, Davis should get a game in goal vs Chelsea and the rest of the fa cup games if we get through, gazza should be loaned out to league one or championship side to get some experience at a higher level then he played last season, fingers crossed were 3-4 points ahead of 3rd bottom last game of the season we can put Davis back in goal for one last game and say goodbye and thanks for the good times, allow Gazza to be number 1 next season. Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 All 3 keepers are not good enough in comparison to the other clubs around us. Need another one but I'm not sure Butland is the answer.

It just struck me as a bit out of character for him to do something like this where you could see absolutely no reason for it to happen and he looked really generally upset at something that's all, be interested to hear from anyone else who witnessed it

What should he have done better for the Arsenal goal? Paused time, traveled forward, just to see what was going to happen? As that's the only way he was ever going to stop it. He woeful at the start, but grew into it. Stop looking to blame a goal on someone.
corsacar saint Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 Kelvin, has been terrific for this club, but he is not a premiership goal keeper, perhaps he is starting to realize that. The other problem is that Gazza needs time and although I think that Boruc, should stay in for now, none of the 3 keepers give me that much confidence. As for Butland,is he a better prospect than Gazza,I very much doubt it. Pilchards Posted 1 January, 2013 Share Posted 1 January, 2013 (edited) I heard it was a competition to find a half decent keeper, I believe a 68 year old granny caught one and is in line for the Villa game.
