Are we a better side without Lallana?

What is mongboard gold is how thick some people are. It was nothing to do with Lallanas form or ability, it was asking the question if the team at that time were better unit without him in it, its easy with hindsight 17 months on with a player massively Improved playing In a different system under a different manager to say it ways 'mongboard gold' and a load of nonsense but at the time it wasn't. Some people get it, quite a few don't which is no surprise considering the amount of divs that come on here.

Just so you know, I am playing the post and not the poster.... The OP was not vey good... Because it does not contain any of the reasoning you subsequently go on to use in its defence. As such it comes across as at best naive, and at worst a wind up attempt.

Had the post focused on the issue that the manager/coaching had not yet found the best solution in how to ensure Adam was most effective, or that his return from injury was likely to have has an impact on his most recent performances, then the post may have Ben less subject to some of the abuse... But I suspect the post was keen to encourage this much more rigorous and robust debate no?

As the master of posts that aren't very good Franco I'll bow you your superior knowledge and expertise on that subject.

Nevertheless, As you can clearly see from my final sentence 'what do people think?' It was clearly intended to provoke discussion and some people even commented that it had done just that. If you bothered to read the thread, at the time it didn't get abuse or riducle, not a single post like that, people made reasonable points for and against and there were some good discussions, it's only now 18 months on people have decided it's 'mongboard gold'. Shame really how what was a valid and interesting discussion point a season and a half ago is now being dressed up as demands for Lallana to be dropped, that I thought he was crap, WUM etc to suit people's personal vendetta. What some might call agendas and trolling, yes?

It wasn't childish, nor point scoring - quite the opposite - pointing out of facts that may help you see that your criticism of players, particularly ones good enough to play internationally who you have never seen play, is is irrational and continually lead to you being proven wrong.

Its not hindsight. As often you were wrong with information available at the time (he was first called into England squad last season) . hindsight is your annual excuse for your errors in judgement.

I love Alp's failsafe "hindsight" defence.
