He didn't have a shot to save today and its a good job he didn't because he was awful,he had a shaky start and he worried me every time a ball was passed back to him,his kicking was awful but to his credit he did improve and his throwing was good but I'm positive he is not the answer to our problems.......he just didn't look interested.

He`s straight jacket material lol

Brilliant. That's exactly what we want. A complete loon. He's an imposing one and when he does find his catching gloves (which he will), he'll be brilliant. Didn't have much to do today and had a jittery start but having seen him numerous times (yes, I can say that), he will come good if given an extended run... and people on here can quote me on that.

I suspect we'll see a two paragraph piece in about 10 years from now in a paper about something horrific he's done in his native Poland :uhoh:

Gazzaniga is still out with an injury so unless he recovers Boruc will play. He certainly doesn't play like an experienced international goalkeeper. His kicking was just adequate, his coolness and throwing was good, very nervous to start with but got better, one save that didn't come back off him, a couple of important catches but has a long way to go to justify the confidence in him from some on here. He certainly hasn't improved on his first three games but lucky for him the defence is much better.

He looked like he'd been smoking weed or something in the first half but he still commanded the area better the Davis.

Exactly... there's a presence to him and that means so much to your defenders.

As I said above, once he's over the jitters people on here slating him will start wishing they hadn't... or will just deny all knowledge of it.

A genuine question for all those wanting a new goalkeeper, who would you go for? The much hyped Butland made a mistake today that directly resulted in conceding a goal...

I'm glad Boruc has finally got his chance, will be interesting to see how well he does against Chelsea at the weekend (presuming he starts again).

I would rather spend money on Friedel than Butland who is no better than Gazza - yes I know he has just signed a new contract but I would tempt Spurs with a decent offer.

I have said it before but Boruc has the campest walk of any footballer ever.

Have to say I thought Boruc looked remarkably chilled today, almost so chilled that it looked as though he was just playing for a laugh!

Would be interesting to know how the players felt playing in front of him?? Did they feel as calm as he looked, or they were nervous as those around me in The Itchen??

Personally, just don't think it's good form to be chopping and changing in outfield positions, but think its a nightmare scenario with a keeper.

Adkins is obviously unsure of who is first choice, so I'd be up for him putting the argument to bed by bringing in a new number 1 pdq.

a total statue of a keeper.. a mere shadow of his former self..

had it not been for some excellent defending his ineptness would have been exposed in the second half.

If we rely on him for the rest of the season start preparing for the Championship.

Parted I think Iam right in saying that you have a background with top grade keepers,if so who is the best keeper at the club?

I still think Boruc is top class, looks much thinner now than he did when we signed him. First 10 minutes he was understandably nervous after being given his first chance in about 3 months. Hope Nigel sticks with him as i still think he is the best goal keeper we have.

Ill judge him over the next two games, I gave our other keepers a bit of time for me to make judgement.

I cant blame Boruc too much for a shakey 10 mins, afterall he is replacing two failed keepers and so it must get in your head. Looked better moving on though, his kicking was poor but started to look more assured, can only judge when he is tested more though.

We need a new keeper as a priority. Awful handling which he was lucky to get away with and terrible nervous kicking all game.

Yeah, it's been tricky this year trying to pick the best out of three very good candidates. Another one is the answer. More keepers. You can never have too many.

The bloke is a clown, end of. Anyone see him up close during the warm up? Huffing and puffing, dripping with sweat, looked like he was still getting over last night.

And as for 'growing into the game', don't make me laugh, any half decent Sunday league keeper would have dealt with what he had to. Thank Christ we didn't let Arsenal test him properly or it would have been a cricket score. And don't start me on his kicking, laughable.:scared:

Never want to see the guy ply for Saints again.

He's still rusty, so its hard to say whether these jitters are temporary or an indication that he's ready for the scrap heap.

At least, saturday's relatively meaningless cup game gives us another chance to look at him. Earlier this season. he might have been excused for having a s**t, unsettled back four in front of him. Now there are no excuses.

One good thing about Boruc is he does try to catch the ball rather than punch or parry it.

Yeah right!! First wobble he came to double fist punch it skimmed off his knuckles over his head thankfully no one was there for Arsenal.

The Goal for Arsenal was preventable as there was no Arsenal player in reach of it Boruc should have shouted to collect the ball and Guly would not have tried to cut out the cross.

The ball was deflected in by GULY at knee height from a out 8 yards out. So, for a keeper to claim it or clear it, he will need to meet the ball at its high test possible point... So you think he should have tried to plough through a crowded penalty area to about 15 yards out

Ok then

No, just one who can be regularly relied upon, and another competent one in reserve.

After the shaky start he looked composed, granted he didn't have much to do but the defenders had no fears in passing it back to him,his distribution was poor on his long kicks but he held onto it and looked to play it out from defence,I would be happy to see him have a run out in the team

It looked to me like he tried to catch it but got it wrong and it hit his hands, but I'll gladly stand corrected.

His body language suggested to me that he lost it in the lights at the last minute; he did everything right until then.

But then, a few minutes later, he came for a cross and caught it, but he took it at chest height rather than going for the high point. He won't get away with that very often at this highly-scouted level, especially now that he's done it once.

As I said earlier, there's a laziness about his style that concerns me.

handling errors early doors, woeful kicking throughout and slow off his line to the under hit backpass. I'm not worried about the handling errors, but he has to sort his kicking out otherwise our problems in goal will continue.

Just someone who is the number 1. Do you honestly believe we're rotating our keepers because they are all just so good?

Can't kick can't catch doesn't look bothered. Crap attitude fat smoker and a nut case. No ta

Had Pilchards not mentioned the smoking thing, I do wonder where some people would be.

As for 'doesn't look bothered' - would you not want Dimitar Berbatov at our place, or Cristiano Ronaldo? They don't look bothered. Mourinho for manager? Never - he never looks 'bothered.'

Been to all 3 of his league appearances, today was his first good 90 mins.

West Ham he was great for the first 45 and then got bored. Spurs bored for 45 then seemed to pull his finger out a bit.

Today he was what we needed overall. Couple of handling errors in the first few mins that the rest of the defence picked him up from without making a big deal about it. After that he was fine.

Amazed us with some brilliant distribution from his throws and had a similar ability to Gazza to command the tempo of the game from goalie actions.

Shame we cant tape Davis with his reactions to Gazza with his kicking/patience to Boruc and his throwing/jumping properly for everything. Would have one decent keeper... Boruc for now has to have a few games unless we get someone else in to be no.1

I wonder why kelvin was fed up!? Being dropped for a smoking drinking fat clown who can't catch and finds it funny when he makes mistakes!

What incentive dies that give people who give 100% to be the best pro they possibly can.

Plus kelvin has been told he can go in jan when Pompey put there offer in.

What was he supposed to do, burst into tears?! Fúck me.

Chris Baird smoked and he won POTY for us before. As long as you keep your fitness levels up, what does it matter? And as for the drinking, he's Polish.

Glad he played today. Hard to judge him from that performance as he didn't have a massive amount to do. Looked a bit shakey first 15 mins, but that is understandable considering how little football he's played the last 6 months. Can't have been helped by some ridiculous ironic cheers from some Saints fans.
