Saint Garrett Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 Walcott and Chamberlain should both get good receptions. Saint Garrett Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 -------------------Gazzaniga Richardson-----Fonte-----Yoshida-----Fox ---------------Morgan-----Cork --------------------Ramirez Mayuka--------------------------------Guly -------------------Rodriguez Yes, I know. Lambert had a good game yesterday, but it's an inconvenient truth that he's not especially fit. Arsenal like to move the ball around and we'll need to run very hard to keep up with them. A player who will tire, drift out of the game and give the ball away lots after 60 minutes isn't the sort of player we want to start. Why so many changes? The back 4 will be the same unless injuries stop them from playing. (Clyne Fonte Yoshi Shaw) Lambert will play up top.
Thedelldays Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 Can only assume you mean Mr Mark Chamberlain, if so I could live with that, assuming he is at the game. Booing Mr Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a different matter, no reason to boo him, just because he was ill-advised by his Skate dad. how on earth was he ill advised..? VectisSaint Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 - Yes, I know. Lambert had a good game yesterday, but it's an inconvenient truth that he's not especially fit. Don't buy this fitness thing. He was still full of running after 102 minutes yesterday and is the only player that we have that is able to hold the ball up, something we will definitely need. I would be staggered if NA drops him to the bench against the Arse. I also hope that we don't get Fox back in, would be a disaster if we have him up against Oxo (assuming Theo plays as striker as this seems to be his position now). He was advised to leave too soon as soon as the £££s were on the table, money isn't everything, believe it or not. Money isn't everything, but since he has been regularly playing Premiership football, perhaps football was the motivation? Playing for England perhaps? Training with the best possible players around you? Many reasons other than money could explain why he left us when he did. He made the right choice for his career, but unfortunately that was at the detriment of our club (money aside, which isn't everything...).

Saint86 Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 Oh one thing I will say, we need to take the lead, go behind and we will struggle to win the game. Only managed to win once from behind! Not Really... Man City and Man Utd we came from behind to lead, we then threw it away, everton we had the lead and threw it away, etc etc etc. What you should have said is "we will struggle to win the game" - lets be realistic

RobM Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 Given how strong Arsenal are in attack and how free-scoring they are right now, is it the right game to introduce a new defensive+GK combination? We know how critical it is and how the defence and 'keeper need a good understanding, so IMO consistency will benefit us more than change. Plus Boruc, for all his experience and reputation, hasn't really worked for us yet, even against weaker opposition than Arsenal.

Their lot don't look fussed at all except for Clint Hill who is appalling for the Premier League. Good players there no doubt but a collection of mercenaries who would rather be elsewhere or just not up for a relegation battle. Redknapp can't change that I don't think. Itchen_block4 Posted 30 December, 2012 Share Posted 30 December, 2012 Why so many changes? The back 4 will be the same unless injuries stop them from playing. (Clyne Fonte Yoshi Shaw) Lambert will play up top. All about fitness really. Arsenal will move the ball about and make us run hard around a lot and we can't accomodate players who are going to drop off after 60 minutes. Newcastle did that and let a 3-3 slip into a 7-3. I'd likke a fully fit Clyne, Puncheon, Shaw and Lambert to play, but I don't think they are fully fit in which case I think it would be a mistake to start them. Adkins' call obviously, but the PL is far more physically demanding than what we've been used to and lots of people are underestimating that. Clyne (if fit) for Jos Guly out left Ramirez for Rickie. Simply think that JRod would pull their defence around better for the first 60mins with SRL coming on to finish them off (in my dreams) Shaw maybe a doubt, took a knock in the game in which case put Clyne at LB & Richardson at RB FFS not Jos in at CB against Theo So depending on knocks mental fatigue ...................Boruc (but it will be KD until we sign Robinson/Butland) Richardson/Clyne Fonte Maya Clyne/Shaw ..........Cork.............Morgan Puncheon......................Guly .................Ramirez .................JRod
