Roger Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Was immense today. First half awesome, Merson just said he was only one showing any composure in the ball second half. Where's the9 and window cleaner today?? Scored first goal, made second, made third and also put jay rod through for potential fourth. 8 goals good return.
ottery st mary Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Mr Lambert is class......still some idiots on here will be having a go.
Roger Posted 29 December, 2012 Author Posted 29 December, 2012 6 people in prem have scored more. He's ahead of tevez, aguero, level with fletcher.
ottery st mary Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Without Sir Rikeee we would be in deep trouble. Opposition teams and most footer pundits can see how good he is....Great player and a star in our side.
ottery st mary Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 (edited) Mrs Lambert thinks our Rikeee is world class too.:).....Sooooo do me and 25,000 other Saints fans:D Come on Roger down to you and me.....and SRL.........on me ed son:rolleyes: The Morgan luvvvies will be on here soon telling us that he had another great game. OldNick Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 RL is the main player for our survival hopes, sadly most football fans think unless you run around like a headless chicken you have no desire or passion.
beatlesaint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 RL is the main player for our survival hopes. He most certainly is...and some people want to drop him for Jay Rod ? Give me strength.
cellone Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Never enough 'other saints fans have crap opinions' threads on this sight.
corky morris Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I don't know what he has got to do to get a free kick! Played well today. Thought Jay Rod was good too.
kpturner Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Roger, I seriously think you are in love. Are you single by any chance?
ottery st mary Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I don't know what he has got to do to get a free kick! Played well today. Thought Jay Rod was good too. To be fair corky.........Morgan did alright too:D Sorrrreeee forgot me crayons:p
Roger Posted 29 December, 2012 Author Posted 29 December, 2012 Roger, I seriously think you are in love. Are you single by any chance? No sorry mate taken. Was awesome today
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Well I follow this forum fairly closely (as a form of sadomasochistic punishment) but I can't for the life of me remember many Saints fans calling for SRL to be dropped So unless someone can tell me who they are, I'm going to assume they're just the figment of the OP's rather overexcited imagination ...

Go to the Fulham thread and you will see Wessex saint and Window cleaner being 2, that was with just a cursory glance
kpturner Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 No sorry mate taken. Was awesome todayNevertheless, you have a somewhat unhealthy obsession. I hope you don't know where he lives

OldNick Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 This forum has around 2000 active users, and you've found 2 calling for SRL to be dropped. I see ... you asked and I gave you some examples, you are an Arsenal fan so Idont see your concern anyway.
jampot Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Putting Alan Shearer to one side, Mr Lambert is the best thing since Steve Moran...
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 you asked and I gave you some examples, you are an Arsenal fan so Idont see your concern anyway. I'm glad to see that you now agree that a only a tiny proportion of Saints fans on here have called for Lambert to be dropped. Never mind, this thread must still have added some sort of value to the forum ... not quite sure what it is though.

Never mind, this thread must still have added some sort of value to the forum ... not quite sure what it is though. Well considering you stated that they were a figment of the OP,s imagination and I found 2 without trying too hard , then it is fair to assume there are many more. There are many goons on here and they do not see the value of RL , thankfully they are in the minority, but they are there.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Well considering you stated that they were a figment of the OP,s imagination and I found 2 without trying too hard , then it is fair to assume there are many more. Well, you've had plenty of time now and the count still only stands at 2 out of 2000. So unless you can at least make it to double figures then the great 'Lambert Out' movement on here doesn't seem to amount to very much does it?
VectisSaint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Well, you've had plenty of time now and the count still only stands at 2 out of 2000. So unless you can at least make it to double figures then the great 'Lambert Out' movement on here doesn't seem to amount to very much does it? The Lambert out movement is a figment of your imagination, a bit like the Cult of Cortese. Doesn't get away from the fact that a number of people were seriously suggesting that Lambert was past it, too slow and should be dropped, especially for the Stoke game.

This number of people would appear to be two out of two thousand. But keep on riding that High Horse anyway ....
VectisSaint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 This number of people would appear to be two out of two thousand. But keep on riding that High Horse anyway .... Unless you were one who said this, I don't know why you even care. Did you say this? Have you been back and edited your post to try to cover your embarrassment? Lighten up, its Christmas. Perhaps you get embarrassed about people wearing Santa costumes as well, or cringe when Sammy Saint does the Gangnam Style thing. Happy New Year.
saints-cris Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Rickie is one of the best things that has happened to us in years. Top, top player.
Smirking_Saint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I think a lot of it wasnt necessarily dropping Lambert but playing to his strengths, we did today and look what happened ? The past few weeks saw us attempt to play with a very fluid front line, he isnt mobile enough for that IMO but get the ball to his feet or head, chuck it in the box and thats what happens. J Rod will be a decent player though I think
Appy Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Jay Rod playing with Lambert works so much better, Rodriguez does the running Lambert simply can't.
Miltonroader07 Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 jay rod playing with lambert works so much better, rodriguez does the running lambert simply can't. agree 100%
corky morris Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Exactly! Jay Rod playing with Lambert works so much better, Rodriguez does the running Lambert simply can't.
Restark19 Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Jay Rod playing with Lambert works so much better, Rodriguez does the running Lambert simply can't. Worked very well today, not sure where this leaves Gaston though, don't think we can play Rickie, Jay and GR in the same side without one of JR or GR playing out left
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 I think a lot of it wasnt necessarily dropping Lambert but playing to his strengths, we did today and look what happened ? The past few weeks saw us attempt to play with a very fluid front line, he isnt mobile enough for that IMO but get the ball to his feet or head, chuck it in the box and thats what happens. J Rod will be a decent player though I think Exactly this. And where was Lambert to score the goal? Lurking at the back post. A typical goal for him and well taken, however it doesn't remove the fact that he isn't mobile enough or skillful enough with the ball at his feet on the run to be ultimately the level of striker we will need to push on. For that reason alone, we will need to upgrade at some stage (not 'drop him' as suggested above).

kpturner Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Not skillful enough? Wind ur neck in mate! He has all the attributes of a top striker except pace.
Appy Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 He has all the attributes of a top striker except pace. If he had pace, he probably would of been in a top 6 side long ago.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Not skillful enough? Wind ur neck in mate! Once again misquoted by a numpty who can't read. I wrote... 'not skillful enough with the ball at his feet on the run'. He is not a dribbler of the ball - it doesn't happen. Does that help?

Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Is he one dimensional though Cam? LOL - nice - yes, in the right context.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Unless you were one who said this, I don't know why you even care. Did you say this? Have you been back and edited your post to try to cover your embarrassment? Lighten up, its Christmas. Perhaps you get embarrassed about people wearing Santa costumes as well, or cringe when Sammy Saint does the Gangnam Style thing. Happy New Year. And a happy new year to you too. Oh I don't really care that much, but it is a bit silly is it not starting a thread on grounds quite this slight? If I was to start a new thread every time I saw two posts on here I didn't happen agree with ... well let's just say I'd be quite busy.

If I was to start a new thread every time I saw two posts on here I didn't happen agree with ... well let's just say I'd be quite busy. Well if you did your research I didn't start the thread, I just went and looked at 1 page on the Fulham game and found 2 instantly.I did not need to find or wish to underline another of your mistakes as you had said the OP was a figment of imagination. An apology would be correct
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Well if you did your research I didn't start the thread, I just went and looked at 1 page on the Fulham game and found 2 instantly.I did not need to find or wish to underline another of your mistakes as you had said the OP was a figment of imagination. An apology would be correct Well I have read the above post most carefully, and I'm still mystified as to what it is exactly you feel I need apologise for. Do try and assembled your thoughts into some sort of cogent argument in future. The current state of play seems to be that (almost) 24 hours on and you have still only produced a mere two of the supposed Lambert doubters this thread is aimed at. So I will repeat myself then - that seems to me a pretty slight basis for anybody to form a argument on. For that matter the whole thing would appear to be your archetypal 'storm in a teapot'
Smirking_Saint Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Do you remember the video a little while back with the strange man shouting 'leave britney alone' Thats how I imagine Roger when he reads any criticism of Rickie
VectisSaint Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Do try and assembled your thoughts into some sort of cogent argument in future. And you accused me of being on my high horse. Your high-horsemanship is outweighed only by your pomposity.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 And you accused me of being on my high horse. Your high-horsemanship is outweighed only by your pomposity. Ha! But I still look up to you my friend from my relatively humble mount
Turkish Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Do you remember the video a little while back with the strange man shouting 'leave britney alone' Thats how I imagine Roger when he reads any criticism of Rickie
doddisalegend Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Well as SRL has scored 8 already this season which is more than Tevez, Rooney and Aguero and the same as Walcott and Dzeko I think I'm happy for him to be in the starting 11 every time no one else in our team is going to score more goals than Rickie IMO.
Pat from Poole Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Worked very well today, not sure where this leaves Gaston though, don't think we can play Rickie, Jay and GR in the same side without one of JR or GR playing out left I'd happily sell Ramirez in the January window if it funded the purchase of Brad Friedel and two proper solid centre-backs. Lambert is by an absolute mile the most important player at the club, far more so than Ramirez.
egg Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 I'm guilty of wanting him dropped. I wanted more pace and movement up front, and JR given a proper chance. After yesterday I'm persuaded that JR and RL should play together. But, when GR plays in the hole we have the problem of playing RL and having no pace up top. We can overcome that by sticking GR out wide but compromising his talents. If we play GR and RL we have to compromise somewhere. Do we sacrifice pace and movement up top, or GR talents? It's tough but there will be times that RL will have to be sacrificed.
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 30 December, 2012 Posted 30 December, 2012 Comment on MOTD about Rickie and how good he was against Stoke: "Huth is big and good but at times today he looked like he'd been in a car crash - that's how good Lambert was" or words to that effect from an experienced former PL defender.

So I will repeat myself then - that seems to me a pretty slight basis for anybody to form a argument on. For that matter the whole thing would appear to be your archetypal 'storm in a teapot' it takes a big man to apologise/ admit you were wrong, we know what you won't of course. You said the thread was a figment of the posters imagination, i immediately found 2 who were saying just the same thing. The point was made and proved, it was not a figment of imagination by the original poster. Go to the Fulham thread and there are more doubters but I need not trouble myself anymore as I have proved you wrong. You had also made it seem i had started the thread which I did not, another mistake by you. As for 'assembled your thoughts in future' I suspect you may have to look in the mirror Charlie
