bjk Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Huge huge game in 2 weeks time. They are awful at the moment and we simply have to win this game.Winners will stay up ,losers will go down i reckon.
Dazza82 Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I think at the moment they are the worst team in the league, but they may improve given the transfer window so January is a big month for us on and off the pitch

Wouldn't say anything like that is hanging on this game, way too early to have that sort of game. If it was in April, or May - probably, but not in January. They're not great, never really rated them. Very young, but young with little quality. We can win up there, I'm sure of it.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Really? I'd never have even guessed that - thanks.
david in sweden Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Aston Villa 0-8, 0-4, 0-3 ........and to think when we scored 4 against them, we actually let them score ONE....
studentsaint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Right now if we don't win at villa there's something wrong with us. We seem like a side likely to get points away from home which is nice. For anyone that watched today's game, stoke at home last game of the season will be the worst opponent for making the fans sweat if we need something from it to stay up. They can put you under pressure with one kick and I will be incredibly nervous against them as it can change suddenly and they are relentless.
Kingsland Red Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I think Villa are the 'Poortvielt' team of this season's Premier League - kids playing to keep the wages bill down. As soon as they drop into the bottom three I think they will struggle to get out again.
Wade Garrett Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Hopefully, there'll be a couple of quality signings that will improve the team by then.
VectisSaint Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 I think at the moment they are the worst team in the league, but they may improve given the transfer window so January is a big month for us on and off the pitch Unlikely that they will have changed things much by 12th January, most January business is done on the 31st.
Micky Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Hardly a huge game or winners up, losers down either. This time last week, Sunderland were in free fall, 6 points out of 9 dramatically changed that. Long way to go yet - nothing will be decided on the Villa game.
Thedelldays Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Hardly a huge game . it really is...isnt it
Crab Lungs Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Last time we went away and "had" to win, we did. Lambert will have them fired up for this one so... and hard works beats talent if talent doesn't work hard, so we have to match them. Make no mistake though, they're a f()cking terrible outfit.
rshephard3 Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Hardly a huge game or winners up, losers down either. This time last week, Sunderland were in free fall, 6 points out of 9 dramatically changed that. Long way to go yet - nothing will be decided on the Villa game. When it's preceeded by Arsenal and followed by Everton and Manchester United it is massive. The team has just picked up 2 points from 3 games they needed 4 points from over Christmas. The Villa game is the biggest of the season so far surely?
Dr Who? Posted 29 December, 2012 Posted 29 December, 2012 Big game, until the next week, when we have another big game. Loving the season, I really am.

That's the point - Sunderland was a huge game. If we'd have beaten them we'd be 14th. As it was Sunderland seem to have stopped the rot and now have a little cushion.
redcoley Posted 7 January, 2013 Posted 7 January, 2013 Lose against villa and its Adkins out , Di Matteo in . Interesting to see us linked with two serie A players in transfer window. Something's brewing
Zlavik Posted 7 January, 2013 Posted 7 January, 2013 This will be a hard game. Just because they've had a poor run of form doesn't mean the poor run will continue. Inductive thinking isn't always a good thing, especially not in football.
Dalek2003 Posted 7 January, 2013 Posted 7 January, 2013 Big game, until the next week, when we have another big game. Loving the season, I really am. The most optimistic poster on this board, unless it is gallows humour. Sometimes I think you are an inverted troll !
surrey1saint Posted 7 January, 2013 Posted 7 January, 2013 Going to tougher than a lot of Saints fans think,Bent just come back from injury. I am going to have everything crossed at Villa park on Saturday.

Chez Posted 7 January, 2013 Posted 7 January, 2013 massive game. Villa are my red hit favs to go down after the woeful showing at our place. Lose to them and my confidence will be knocked big style. Can't wait for the game. Have we sold out yet? Kind of looking forward to waching from that side stand as it will feel like a new ground almost.
Saint Garrett Posted 8 January, 2013 Posted 8 January, 2013 I think our dream will die at Villa Park. Of course you do.
saints-cris Posted 8 January, 2013 Posted 8 January, 2013 I think our dream will die at Villa Park. Yep, relegated on Saturday with no chance to claw it back..
Dark Munster Posted 8 January, 2013 Posted 8 January, 2013 I think our dream will die at Villa Park. What dream is that? Yo-yoing?
Gambol2K9 Posted 10 January, 2013 Posted 10 January, 2013 The most optimistic poster on this board, unless it is gallows humour. Sometimes I think you are an inverted troll ! It's called enjoying football, fair play to him. I'd rather that than your tedious wrist-slitting.
