Thats true but we are always hearing about randow beatings whilst being drunk and the like, up here its a straightener and its pretty much sorted out, just look at todays page of the Echo, Liverpool's Echo no diferrent but its a far far bigger City with an outlying area of over a Million people, parts are rough but other parts not.

So basically, it's a city. ;)

It is but its a great City, dont get me wrong I miss Southampton sometimes but I have not lived there for 14 odd years and even then I lived outside in a village, the City needs more to be done to it, its boring for any age, in fact its crap, the skates have their tower and we have an ikea.

Astori anyone?

The Waldorf Astoria? Yes we could have one of them in Southampton, that would give a bit of sparkle at least and a good hotel bar is always great for the single men looking to impress.....................

Name 5 nice parts in Southampton with things to do, good restaurants and bars and the like.

Most of the City Centre is pretty good now, All started from West Quay and they have done up that square (millenium) in front of the Guildhall. Much better than it was 5 years or so ago.

But to be fair I said both had crap areas, but just said Liverpool's areas are bigger because it's a bigger city. 20 mins in the car from Soton centre and you can be in the country, whereas in pool you are just in the vast urban dreary sprawl. The docks at Liverpool are pretty nice but the main bar/club area was pretty rubbish when I went and as I said Bristol has a much better city centre and has the nice dock area.

Says the man with a dead midget as his avatar and he goes by the name of Turkish, why would I want to be a scouser? I dont want to be a scouser at all, I am a Sotonian and a proud one but one who happens to find Millbrook, Thornhill and Shirley as ****e as parts of Liverpool, the difference is th ****e parts up here there are things to do and nights out that dont revolve around getting hammered before 2200, thats when Southampton closes doesn't it?

Says the spoon collecting Tory from the midlands.

The main thing I love about this site is the tolerence and friendliness show to other posters. It could be the one reason I paid my subs this year:rolleyes:

Not statistically relevant until you know which posts are on topic without the need to type Astori.

I was not talking about the City centre, I was talking about in the boudaries, in Liverpool we have

Lark Lane

Woolton

Allerton Road

Childwall

Mossley Hill

And others as well.

20 mins from Liverpool and you can be in Wrst Kirby, Heswall,Hale village, Crosby and West Lancs and North Cheshire, in Liverpool areas like Cressington, Woolton and Grassendale where houses go for serious poke.

Its not all bad trust me I would not be here otherwise.

As a Saints fan who lives in Liverpool I can safely say thats ****e and as old as the hills, parts of Liverpool are crap but there are also lovely parts, Southampton has ****e parts in fact an awful lot of ****e boring drab parts , in fact Southampton is drab lets be honest.

Your having a laugh mate, I'm often in Liverpool as on of my clients are based over that way, name me one shop in Southampton that has a gap in the plastics to exchange goods for cash, like in the us

Might mean Cash Converters sort of thing, there are 3 in Southampton.

However before the advent of cash walls and saturday bank opening M+S was everyone's Saturday bank. Buy something, pay by cheque, take it back a few hours later saying Mum/Wife/Girlfriend didn't like colour, receive cash.

I reckon you'd like the London in Oxford Street. Right up your street, and an excellent chance of not going home on your own.

Ah I see the old gay bar routine, very good lad. Go on where is good? When I lived down there I always went to Bournemouth or Brighton for a night out as town was crap, New York's, McCluskeys,Dog and Duck just crap, it surely has to be better now.

No where is good to go out in Southampton, you were right the first time

trousers, do you search for "transfers" and just follow anyone with a reference to transfers in their handle?

Yep, although I must admit there can be flaws in this strategy....

And I have seen more violence in those 3 places than I have anywhere else I have ever lived, the McCluskeys lot, is that still bounced by the lads from golden gloves? Aggro there all the time and I wil tell you why, there is no where to go, too many fellas and not enough birds, or very average ones at that who think they are the ******** when in fact most of the fit ones left years ago.

Doesn't exist anymore, neither does New Yorks or Dog and Duck.

More importantly, who gives a sh*t about comparing city nightlife on a thread about potentially signing a new centre half?

I bet 25 year old Astori does - its all off once he realises its kebabs or Jumpin Jaks.

Depends what you want Bazza. Im guessing married and 37 you dont necesarily want the typical lardy, orange faced, WKD drinking, skank bucket hanging off your arm if you put your M3 keys on the bar. I've stayed and eaten here. Not bad.

I have not even got a motor at the moment as deciding what to buy ha ha so would have to go for a bus lady or bus wa**er! Yes thats looks good a bit of sophistication for me.

@GraemeBailey: Southampton will need to raise their offer for Davide Astori if they are to prise the centre-half away from Cagliari. http://t.co/aMTXGBRP

Edit: just noticed that article linked is from last night. Why do these journos retweet old articles FFS?

that was on Sky Sports yesterday evening, whats the point of retweeting it.

I told you all yesterday exactly what the situation was, it's not Daily Mirror guesswork, the Italian press usually know roughly exactly what's going on. The price is 15 million € we've offered about 10/11, Liverpool 8.5. There's still a way to go and Milan are in the mix although they're now looking at Carvalho on a short term basis.
