Who gives a f*ck?

It was just a question. For ME I dont care at all as I think a lot of english players are extremely overrated so personally I´m happy with that.

Just a thought since CB in PL is probably one of the toughest positions to play for players coming from other countries and perhaps not used to the type of game played there.

You seem to dislike foreigners. Some nice racism in your location too.

Charming.

Didn't I say stop making assumptions? How you ever came to that conclusion I don't know, though.

I should probably cancel the two weeks I have booked in Japan in the summer though... and the 3 weeks in China... and I should probably put on hold moving to Thailand... and I probably shouldn't have visited the 45 other countries I've been to because I hate foreigners and I'm a racist.

You silly Billy.

yet Killer and Claus arguably one of the best pairings in the prem in 2003, both foreign as it were?

You probably should. Or maybe there will be a Japanese lad at the airport to 'stop you getting in'.

True, even though I could make a case of that they are Scandinavian players that play a very smiliar style as it is done in England.

And they were very experienced with many national games, but I agree on that one of course.

You need 3 decent centre halves anyway. THey will all play their part even if the Itie does join.
Not going to complain about having 3 quality CBs, but it's a weird position to cover, bit like a back up keeper, you might be a decent player, but you can go a whole season with hardly any game time, as opposed to a back up forward who will get chucked on most weeks for 15/20mins or a midfielder that'll often get brought on to help close a game off.

Google translate: Cagliari in red, there is also the name of Davide Astori among the possible starters. Many teams have approached the defender, among them there is also a Southampton, which has already caught in Italy with Gaston Ramirez. The interest of the English club is real, Astori really like the Premier. However, there are few chances that the deal will go through, it is a difficult negotiation.

Still none the wiser.

Looking a possibility:

Tweeted

@FRANCESCalciO: SportMediaset saying Cagliari and Italy defender Davide Astori close to joining EPL side Southampton for 10 million euro. Puzzling move.

Translated:

Davide Astori has chosen his future will be far from Italy. The almost 26-year old defender (having a birthday next Monday) has reached an agreement with Southampton. The British are going to Finalize

1) Why do we need a CB? Aaron Martin's just back from loan at Palarse

2) More seriously. I expect this will run for a few days. The rumours on the Ramirez deal were a season long loan for around 5/10mil and the option to buy at the end of that for a further 5mil or so.

Clearly that didn't happen and hence we took out the loan against future TV money (it also gave us an out if he was rubbish/we got relegated.

It would not surprise me IF NC is trying something similar on this deal.

Page 36 then

(Bloody hope not sooner he is in and training the less devastating an injury/Red Card for Jose/Maya would be)

Must ask - if Saints and the player have agreed terms - then the Italian club must have given him permission to talk with Saints right? In that case the deal must be well on its way ?

Yes, they will have given us permission to speak with the player but reserve the right to not agree a deal with us themselves. Gaston had agreed a deal with us ling before we did with bologna

Difference between Saints and Cagliari is €2m (£1.6m approx). Clubs still working on agreement, especially since Astori has already agreed personal terms with Cortese.

See my earlier post about the meeting at La Lupa's and Luca Brasi on the door.Knew it.

What's Italian for "In the know" ?

Where is sue Whistle when you need her? In case you didn't know she lives in Italy.

Cagliari are in red [overdrawn \ have no money], It's possibile Davide Astori will go. Many squads are chasing the defender, including Southampton, who already "fished" in Italy with Gaston Ramirez. The interest of the English club is real, Astori would like to play in the premier league [sic]. But there is little possibility the transfer will go through, it is a difficult transfer.

Decent translation...

Tutto Napoli - local rag like the Echo here, but quoting Mediaset the largest media company in Italy:

http://www.tuttonapoli.net/?action=read&idnotizia=130385

The future is English for Davide Astori, 25. According to MediaSet Sport, the Cagliari defender has reached terms of agreement with Southampton. The English must now agree the final price with Massimo Cellino, the owner [of Cagliari]. The offer is around €10mil. Astori was also linked with Napoli in this window.
