Next five games where will the points come from?

Tough fixtures, can only see one win from this list and that probably won't be good enough, what do you see?

stoke away = loss

arsenal home = loss

Aston villa away = win

Everton home = loss

man United away = loss

even if we pull off a couple of unlikely draws too that would still only give us five points from a possible fifteen worrying

An average of a point a game from those 5 fixtures wouldn't be worrying at all. It would probably see us above Villa and Wigan. So long as we finish above either of those two we will be safe IMO.

Agree with your prediction, I think we're about to go through another 'adkins out' phase, where some of the fanbase will start to panic again.

I want him to stay whatever happens but will cortese feel the same or is he still very much on borrowed time?

Totally agree he should stay, but you know what things are like on here, hopefully people will hold their nerve a bit more this time if we dip in form again.

Really so long as the teams below us stay below us we can get zero points from the next five games if they all do the same (I'd rather that we won a game or two though ;) )

Agree, we are 11th in the form table at the min and got the same points as Chelsea and Swansea from last 8 games. Not too bad, just need to keep averaging one point per game.

I can see a minimum of 2 points from those games and a maximum of 4 if we can beat villa which is not impossible but it is a difficult run of games, perhaps if we could bring in a couple of signings early in the window rather than leaving it until a minute before it closes might help our cause and get another couple of points on the board.

But getting players in early seems to be a bit of a novelty these days.

need to do better than that so somewhere we've got to turn on the turbo and get an unexpectedly good result. Villa away perhaps.

Probably need 7 points or better from these 5 games.

Need to do better than Stoke draw, Arsenal win, Villa draw, Everton draw and Utd lose? Really? 6 points from those 5 would be very good.

we need to start upping the points/game ratio because at the end of the season it needs to be 1 at least. As we're on 16 from 18

to put it back to equality 7 from 5 would be ideal and to beat Villa to boot is a bonus.

Agree with that but 6 points from that run of 5, I would take that now. It would represent a good return considering 3 of those are against top sides.

Draw at Villa and a win against Everton would please me but tbh, I reckon we will be lucky to get a point from the next 5.

Losing to Sunderland was a massive, massive defeat given our run-in.

could the point at Fulham be the point that keeps us up? could the lost points against Sunderland be the point we threw it away? find out in this season of the hbo series saints and sinners

Reading and QPR for the drop surely.

Then it is between us and Wigan, I reckon.

Us Wigan and Villa. Away games at Wigan and Villa will count for a lot at the end of the season. Seen Villa twice of late (the 2 defeats) and they really are a very poor side with most of their players being Championship level at best. Perhaps they have some injuries or something that will give them a hand up soon but if they continue with all those Australians and Canadians or whatever it is who are trying to play text-book football straight out of the NCAA they will go down.

oh you mean the goalkeeping gifts, some of us predicted those last summer and were called ***ts,knobs, idiots and many other

endearing names for our troubles.

If, in the summer, you made good, well balanced arguments for an improvement in our goal keeping department and was called an idiot than that is certainly unfortunate. However, the Wigan and Sunderland games we didn't even score (or look like we'd score), so those poor results can't be pinned purely to our goal keeping department.

don't you think Harry will turn around qpr? i fear he will

How long has he been there now? He can't see to make any sort of impact with the players they have, they needed more wins by now. It will be very, very, very hard for them to survive with the points total they have and the games they've got coming up.

10 points at the turn of the year 9 times out of 10 will relegate any team, so I'm quite confident that Reading and QPR will go. The final place is up for grabs, Villa, Us, Wigan, Fulham as well could all get dragged into it. Newcastle and Sunderland will pull themselves away.

I think we'll give most of those sides a good game, but January was always a ''hell month'' fixture wise, so it was important we picked up a fair few points from a winnable period - which we have done, and we've got our head above water. So at least we go into next month in a decentish position.

The March-April fixtures are great though, and compared to the other sides around us, we're very fortunate. We could have easily been going into the final weeks of the season facing the likes of Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd - but we're lucky.

No - he's inherited a dysfunctional dressing room that is doomed and needs to go down, get scrapped and rebuilt again.

they are allegedly going to give him big money to spend in January though as a last bid at staying up

Will still be near on impossible, as they'll only attract the wrong sorts in their position. For any meaningful additions that'll make a difference, they'll need to convince them to join by offering $$$$$$. They're ****ed IMO.
