Billy Sharp

All of you who claim to know all about Billy Sharpe and his situation at Saints please answer this.

Who are/is the players/player who didn't want Sharpe in the team at the start of last season, the playerts/player who left the club no choice than to ship Sharpe out on loan.

Did this actually happen? Who were these players?

How true do you think the "rumors" were/are that Celtic are interested in him? If true (yes, I know, some of these rumors have to be accompanied by a very big IF) then surely he would be good enough for PL. I know people like to diss Celtic, but they aren't going to sign rubbish.

Who is the player who prevented Sharpe being picked after the return from pre season last year. Who influenced the manager at the time?

Is this

a) A rhetorical question you think you know the answer to

or

b) Your usual incoherent ranting

or

c) both of these.

If it's a) at least name the mystery player.

Billy is top mates with Beattie. Is there any chance "muffins being involved? although Sharpe doesn't look like a muffin man.

Now, I know you get this a lot but WTF are you talking about ART ?

Sharp, thats Sharp... Wasnt picked at the start of last season due to him being deemed surplus to requirements.

So after that your saying a current player wanted rid of him ?

sounds like a source for some juicy scandal though even though it is probably totally unfounded.

He deserves a chance and that is all people are asking.

This isn't ****ing X Factor. What do you think NA & MP did, say "he's not good enough" without even looking at him, watching videos ect ect. What do you want, any player that played during our rise through the leagues given an audition in front of Les, MP & Nicola.

He's had a chance, he's been a professional footballer for a number of years, has played for the club and trains with the club. The people who pick the team don't think he's good enough, that's it, end of, fininto.

To which you contributed lies, false and devious stories based on your own nasty attitude towards a really decent guy who gave his all for getting us promoted. Not once have you expressed any understanding or sympathy for the hell he and his wife underwent in his private life. Why? Because you don't possess an ounce of feeling or true understanding of life or others. Your tainted comments not only have contributed in trying to ruin the career of a nice human being but made it more difficult for the club, tte player to stand any chance of a move away. 10 years back another guy was witch hunted out of the club, a certain Kevin Davis, Who went on to make laughing stock of those who doubted his ability and talent, and eventually get capped for England. Circumstances change and Billy like anyone can go on to do well in the Premier League.

I have often spoken of the debt of Karma in our lives. You and your likes who rip people to pieces based on flse rumors and lies will have much to pay. Maybe, Karma is playing a role in our lack of scoring seeing how Billy was shunted out after a fine pre-season.

ART do you have a personal connection with Billy Sharp and is this why you hate Lallana so much? Everytime you appear on this site it seems to be to slag AL off. Your obviously entitled to your opinion, but it's driving me mad trying to guess why you hate him quite so much. Did he fiddle with your missus? did he put a turd through your door? ding your car? C'mon there is definitely something so just cough it up, you might find some of us agree with you about it and change our opinion of him if we knew the facts, coz at the moment it's starting to seem petty and a little stalker wierd to be honest. SWF demandz the truth !

If Celtic are to make a move for Billy Sharp, they will have to complete the deal before Monday evening should they want him to play in Europe. It appears they have 4 strikers in the mixer including Billy.

Basically ART is a borderline nutcase with a history of completely fabricating things and jumping to some utterly bizarre conclusions that literally no-one else has come to with the same evidence. You're wasting your time asking for evidence, as it's utter fantasy.

I haven't seen any Sharp hatred on here, there's nothing to think this was as a result of anything other than a genuine assessment of a player's ability, and there is plenty of time for Sharp to do his LJS Foundation work without it impacting on his football, and where he chooses to play and what he and his partner choose to do are in no way relevant to the footballing decisions at Saints. I wish him all the best, but we wouldn't be signing him now and the die has already been cast on that front. If he chooses to sit out his contract at Saints, I don't have a problem with that either, we're still paying far worse players for their part in our revival.

Still interesting that we have no number 11 though...

From Saintsweb's favourite journalist Alex Crook

#SWFC chairman Milan Mandaric confirms he is in 'dialogue' with #saintsfc over signing Sharp. Good old Milan always loved a bit of dialogue

Sharp's wages of £20,000 plus are a major stumbling block in possible #swfc move #saintsfc

Nothing wrong with what Art wrote at all (apart from the last para, but his intention is clear). Your reaction is OTT.

Nice to see decency and support amongst Saints supporters. What has our fan base come to when certain person constantly resort to pulling fellow members and supporters apart. I'm a Saints supporter for 62 years, following faithfully despite living and working 41 years in 20 overseas countries. I'm a member of Saints main forum since 1999 and posted over 100,000 times as BAJ will confirm. I visit the board to discuss, pass opinions and try to enjoy the posts, thoughts and opinions of others and occasionally have a joke or two with friends.

I think if your going to come on here and make statements alluding to players being forced out the club by other players but then refuse to expand on it or give any proof you should expect to take some flak from other posters. I gather the player you're talking about is Lallana but you have provided no proof on this so, while the9 was a bit ott in what he said and there was no need to be so offensive he probably does have a point

After him crowing about Doncaster's win on Friday night, let him know on Twitter how ****ed off I am that he makes no comment on yesterday's great win at West Brom. Have no idea wny he's up north or why he didn't go to the game.

Recent interview by with Sharp

http://getfootballnews.co.uk/we-speak-with-billy-sharp-about-his-career-england-and-monaco/

We speak with Billy Sharp about his Career, England and Monaco

Can you name any players you would compare yourself to, and for what reason?

I used to watch heroes like Alan shearer and Michael Owen. I used to try to learn from them, and now I like to watch Luiz Suarez, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero as I’m built similar to them. A poor mans one of them.

Greatest goal?

Ultimate goal of my career has to be my goal for Doncaster against Middlesbrough at the Keepmoat Stadium. It was for my baby boy Luey. Also because it was a volley on my left foot, on an angle, which flew in to the top corner.

In your opinion who is the most talented player you’ve played alongside?

I had the privilege of playing with was Gary Speed at Sheffield United.

Who is the best footballer you’ve played against?

Best defender I’ve played against is Vincent Kompany, but in general it has to be Paul Gascogne.

Who were your footballing idols when you were growing up, and why?

My idols were Brian Deane because I support Sheffield United. Others would be Alan Shearer and Michael Owen.

3 footballers you’d like to play against and why?

Bobby Moore because he’s the only ever England captain to lift the World Cup. Lionel Messi because he is the best player I’ve ever seen play. Alan Shearer because he’s my hero and all time leading Premier League goal scorer.

What is the best moment of your career so far?

Winning promotion with S****horpe from League 1 to Championship, and securing promotion with Southampton to the Premier League. Another would be my hat-trick for my boy hood club Sheffield United with the third goal coming at the kop end against QPR.

What do you hope to achieve with Southampton?

Bit of a tricky question as I don’t know what my future holds at Southampton. Would love to get my place back in the team alongside England’s Rickie Lambert and play in the Premier League.

What would you like to have achieved by the end of your playing career?

I would like to have scored over 250 career goals, play regular in the Premier League and maybe experience European football.

World football questions

Do you agree with the way teams like Monaco, PSG and Manchester City spend?

Monaco and PSG have spent a fortune but if you are lucky enough to have the money to spend then spend it, it won Manchester City the title. I think it will win Monaco or PSG the French title and all 3 will be strong in the Champions League.

Why do you think England national team has not seen any success in recent years amongst all age groups?

I think the English mentality isn’t as disciplined as other country’s and we are not giving enough English talent the chance to gain experience to progress as players at the highest level like other country’s do.

Who do you think will win the World Cup in 2014 and why?

Spain will be strong. Brazil have a great chance because they are the hosts. My surprise team are Belgium. They have got lot of talented players in the squad and could hit the ground running.

We thank Billy for his time and wish him all the best this season.

No Saints fan hate Billy Sharp but most of us understand that he hasn´t the right quality for PL.

Most fans are probably eternally greatful for his help but understand it is time to move on. I wish him all the best of luck in whatever club he goes to.

Hopefully it gets solved soon so this thread can be locked down...

I cant say Im eternally greatful TBH, he is a likeable bloke thats gone through a lot but ultimately is a striker, here for half a season, paid hansomely (part of the reason he has not gone) and even said we were a stepping stone when he first joined.

Now, I genuinely wish him all the best in the future but I dont get the almost hero worship TBH

My opinion is that he should have been more involved early last season but the decision had been made, but I look at our squad and think "who wouldn't we buy now?" and he's pretty high on that list.

I'd be surprised if he signed for Adkins as he was the manager that sidelined his Prem ambitions last season, and would no doubt do it again if Reading went back up. It would be a very short term move, though I suppose that could potentially be another 3 years' contract at high Championship wages, rather than, say, his Doncaster deal.

Good luck to him. Played a huge part in us getting back in the premier league. If he scores freely in the SPL we may well see him back in the premier league with a club like hull, Norwich, Sunderland, or a newly promoted team struggling next season.
