Invited a mate round for Xmas Dinner (Damascus Saint)

Astonishingly he brought me a box of 25 Cigars.

Davidoff Grand Cru #1

I just googled the cost.

Holy Sh1t. Wish he'd bought me a Ferrari instead....

Oh & I don't actually smoke Cigars, may just make an exception in this case

More casual shirts than I can count, board games, Saints home shirt, Saints gnome, Saints calendar, about £400 cash, new wallet to put it all in, smellies, socks, chocs, and other stuff I forget.

Weirdest present from my sister was a drinking straw than you can construct in a multitude of ways. (Which I tried and it makes the drink taste disgusting.

I got more joy from seeing my family open their presents from me. Best reactions were my mum on getting a radio controlled Aston Martin (she asked for a real one, but still...) and my wife on getting a bread maker. (Which I actually didn't think she'd like at all.)

Garmin S3 Golf Watch off Mrs JBS only hinted at the S1 now I am going to invite myself round Dubai Phil's to play golf and help him smoke his Cigars before they go off and visit my friend in Bangkok to play golf there just to get the most out of it.

Latest James Herbert book Ash, that looks like it might take a bit of time to meander through.

I did take pleasure from the reaction from Mrs JBS to a book of photos that I had made up via Jessops of photos that I had taken on a recent trip to New York for her landmark birthday: including one of us together that went up on a billboard in Times Square.

Both good and odd!!

I got a paperwhite kindle reader. Lovely jubbly...

Oddly? I got a card trick set lol

We have something in common TDD (believe it or not!) I got a 'paperwhite kindle' as well !

Reckon that I'll have more time to use it though as you have 32,000 posts on here and I have a miserable total of less than 3,000 !!

Ha yep played that one. Lost about 5 balls into the water in the 18th, they were rental clubs damned slice...

Course I always wanted to play was at the old Don Muang Airport course was between the two runways. Reckon I could have killed a few 777's on that one.

To be honest chaps, I went into town to post something. While I was there, I picked up Judge Dredd complete case files 1 + 2 and Band of Brothers, gave it to the missus and said "wrap this up for Christmas". Was all cheap as chips. She pulled the same trick with a couple of her pressies. Much, much easier.

On a more serious note, this is the last Christmas where we've still got children. Juvenile Unit #1 turns 18 next year. Really is zipping by very quickly now. Five years time, both my girls will be adults, probs out of our house on a semi-permanent basis. This Christmas, we scored our third proper family holiday ever, had no proper connectivity over the whole period, spent a lot of time watching films and playing games. Was ace. Felt like Christmas' past. Best present I got this year was a memorable time with the family. We even took the dog, normally banged up in "dog chokey" whenever we go away.

Often wondered how far into the round you stop being distracted and start scoring properly. Always thought it would be a bit of a surreal experience.

That Muang Kaew the caddy said there is water across the fairway on the first hole, off we go jetlag at play between our ears, second shot she says again about the water (I can't see any water or marker posts) onto the green my ball goes then the water comes into sight that looks like a course tidy bit of irrigation, just as I am about to putt I hear a motor getting closer and then one of those Thai boats with the propeller out on the end of a shaft with 4 blokes heading to work on board just sails "across" the fairway!.......... In my head it's 2am in the morning, I am on a golf course, the mercury has just waved at 30c on the way past, humidity is jollying along in the 90%s: and a boat has just motored through the Golf Course!!! Someone pinch me!!
