Problem is, how much would they have cost? I'd like to have Phillips as well, but you're looking at £7m+ for these players. We may have a bit of moe, but we're not in the same league as some teams when it comes to buying young players for lots of money and then slowly introducing them (although we appear to be doing that with JR).

He wasnt good enough for the first team, and his contract was running down, Ince wanted first team football, they did well to get the sell on clause TBH.

There were other teams interest but Blackpool gave him assurances for first team football. As Liverpool got a 35% sell on clause it would be expensive for other teams to get him, probably why Saints didn't get him in the summer.

Funny that Dalglish felt he wasn't good enough and now looks like he's heading back there.

not true what so ever...liverpool offered him a contract on 5 occasions...it would have made him the highest paid player in the country who is outside of the named 25 player list...he also was offered in his contract that if he never made a certain amount of first team appearances over the following season...he would be allowed to go to the NPC for 12 months and then return

it was his dad who steered him to leave..and hard to argue that it was the wrong decision really

but liverpool really wanted to keep hin

liverpool did the deal with blackpool with the adams signing...and the sell on clause is big which means it is only really viable to do a deal with liverpool on his sale...

Oh, well in that case I take it back. Surprised they are taking him back if he kept turning them down before...

that is a good point.....you can only assume that they would get a good player at a knock down price due to their own sell on clause...

sterling and ince in the same team will cause all sorts of problems IMO

Why would he?

My sawce told me:).......I do not think he is good enough myself.....personal opinion.

Plus the associated baggage that comes with him........His demands will be horrendous.

He is looking for a big move and would use any of the current interested parties as a stepping stone this season.

Looks like going to Swansea.

My concern ...if he was that good........Chelsea , Man City , Arsenal etc would have snapped him up...

Within the next 6/12 months we have McQueen and Rowe pushing for first team place.

Liverpool back in according to SSN.

We are now hearing that Liverpool have rejoined the race to sign Tom Ince. The Blackpool ace was heavily linked with a move to Anfield last summer. And Liverpool appear to have made a late move this morning as they look to beat the likes of Swansea, Crystal Palace, Stoke City, Hull City and Sunderland to the England Under 21's signature

I thought Liverpool had first refusal on him from when he was sold by them?
