SuperMikey Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 Anyone ever tried it? Thinking of cutting down on the old fags in the New Year and thought this might be a good way to do it.

Thedelldays Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 why did you start smoking in the first place..?
Edmonton Saint Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 Snus as in Swedish Snus? Try it whenever I visit Sweden, It always gives me a buzz and when mixed with alcohol it makes one terribly lightheaded.. I don't smoke normally but quite like a bit of snus. I think I read somewhere that Sweden has the lowest male cancer rates in Europe which they put down to Swedes preferring Snus over cigarettes. Doctoroncall Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 Why replace one carcinogenic with another, especially as you don't know what it is like?
norwaysaint Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 Horrible stuff, too many of my students use it, it's very popular over here, about as common as smoking. Obviously the upside is that nobody has to take it passively, the downside is how stupid people look with that lump bulging on their upper lip, talking to somebody and witnessing that disgusting trickle of ****ty brown liquid dribble over their teeth and the fact that they're even more lazy than smokers about disposing of their debris, leaving those nasty little teabags stuck to walls, or spitting the loose stuff all over the place. Apparently it's between 95-99% less carcinogenic than smoking.

Doctoroncall Posted 20 December, 2012 Share Posted 20 December, 2012 Apparently it's between 95-99% less carcinogenic than smoking. Carcinogen levels in snus may be lower -- but they are not low. Cigarettes are the world's most efficient nicotine delivery device. They are also the most deadly. Many of the most dangerous byproducts of cigarettes are created during the burning process. But smokeless tobacco is a major cause of oral cancer, pancreatic cancer, and esophageal cancer. Much of this risk comes from cancer-causing chemicals called nitrosamines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). And snuff products actually deliver more cancer-causing nitrosamines than cigarettes do. good luck in cutting down the cigarettes.
