The9 Posted 14 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 14 May, 2013 That can only really happen if you are staying with the same kit supplier and sponsor. Mr Wrong has never been more appropriate than now. Teams are permitted by Prem rules to wear their next season's kit in the final game of the season if the Prem Board approves it, and numerous teams have done so, including some instances of changing sponsor and/or manufacturer. There's no reason why clubs wouldn't buy out the last match of a contract if they had a better deal, or even run the contract with an option for the last match. Either way, it's already happened. The9 Posted 14 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 14 May, 2013 (edited) FWIW, Wigan, Norwich and Chelsea all wore this season's kit in the final match of last season, none changed manufacturer brand or sponsor, but it has happened. Newcastle and Bolton both retained kit manufacturer and sponsor in 2010/11's last match but had new kit. However, at the end of 2009/10 Wolves wore this Burrda kit on the last day (9th May 2010) against Sunderland : When they'd been wearing this Le Coq Sportif kit all season : Same sponsor, different kit brand though. I pretty much stopped looking then. Edited 14 May, 2013 by The9

I think the Liverpool away/third ones are the only ugly 90s styles really, you didn't get many "just plain with coloured trim and a subtle weave" styles in the 90s, there aren't many loud bold prints there (yet?). The9 Posted 15 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 15 May, 2013 Not just the overall style, a lot of the collars for example are a throwback to a period of kits that I'd rather forget. Can't say I'd noticed. Then again I didn't notice the massive baggy kits we wore circa 2000 at the time, either, or how short shorts were until Spurs broke out the baggies in the 1991 FA Cup Final. Funny that if you watch that match now you only notice how short Forest's shorts were, not how long Spurs' were, when Spurs got plenty of stick for those shorts at the time. Equally, Scotland's Umbro 1986 World Cup kit with the white shorts with one navy hoop look positively subtle compared to some of the stuff we've seen in the interim, but they got b-antered too. krissyboy31 Posted 15 May, 2013 Share Posted 15 May, 2013 who the fck would buy something with wonga across it? I would hate us to have anything like that on our kit and I'm sure true Newcastle fans aren't particularly chuffed by it. Mind you, a certain newly promoted team has Cash Converters on theirs and that is even worse.

The9 Posted 15 May, 2013 Author Share Posted 15 May, 2013 (edited) Well if we do get Adidas now, you can bet your bottom dollar that one of our away kits (if there's more than one) will have a silver logo. And it'll look **** hot. All in my opinion of course. Weirdly I've seen some of the launch shots and it looks like the badge is the regular Stoke one not a monochrome one. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they wore it against us on Sunday though, would solve the "slight clash" problem they'd have with their red/white striped home and their red/navy striped away. Difficult to tell, but looks red and white to me ? Edited 15 May, 2013 by The9

BlakeySFC Posted 16 May, 2013 Share Posted 16 May, 2013 If I was a betting man I'd say the hold up was something to do with paying off the current sponsor (aap3) or we that we are still in discussions with our new sponsor finalising the financial details. As the sponsor on the front of the shirt design would have to be finalised before being given the all clear that is obviously the hold up. There's obviously toing and froing between the new Sponsors (probably Eterna) and the old sponsors (aap3) over money/compensation/length of contract/size of contract or something.
